Adelaide dialed Alaya and Kellie's number and anxiously waited for them to pick up. Alaya was the first to answer and she could tell by Adelaide's face something big had happened. When Kellie didn't respond she asked,
"So, what's going on"
"Brodie!" Adelaide squealed.
"OH MY GOD, hold on, let me get my headphones" she joked as she ran upstairs.
Adelaide impatiently waited, hopping from side to side, waiting for Alaya to get back on the call.
"Spill" she said, finally arriving back.

"Ok so I was walking out of school and Brodie was at his locker and he dropped all his books..." she paused. "Did you get popcorn?"
"Yes, I assumed the story would be very interesting therefore I need popcorn" she said holding up the packet.
"Anyways, I picked up his books to hand them back to him and we had this moment!"
"Oooooo, a moment!" She repeated.
"Yes! Then he was trying to say something but he couldn't say it so I was there waiting and THEN! He asked if I wanted to get coffee with him on Sunday!" She blurted out in an excited manner.

Alaya screamed with excitement down the phone.
"BRODIE ASKED YOU OUT!" She sang.
"Well no, he didn't ask me out he just wants to get to know someone, to have a friend, maybe they do that a lot in Australia?" She tried to stop herself from getting too excited but it wasn't working.
"Girl, you know full well he asked you out don't even deny it!" Sassy Alaya was coming out!
"Oh my god, what do I wear?" Adelaide said in a panic. Alaya jumped up.
"I'm coming!"

Saturday night rolled around and neither Alaya, Kellie nor Adelaide were any closer to finding an outfit than they were on Tuesday. Feeling tired from searching through her closet for hours on end, Adelaide flopped onto her bed and checked her phone for any messages. There were none. Feeling sorry for herself she put in her headphones and leaned back against the frame of her bed, deciding to listen to some Indie music while her friends scoured her room for a cute coffee  "date" outfit.

All of a sudden, the screen from her laptop lit up and she signed in to find she had one new email.
"Probably from Ms Smith, reminding us about the assignment" she thought.
You can imagine the shock she got when she read "from Brodie Williams." Her heart started to beat faster and faster in her chest, she started to feel dizzy.
"Just open the email!" She debated whether she should wait to open it until tomorrow. But what if he was canceling?"
"Guys I got an email from Brodie!" Both of the girls sat beside her and waited until the email was open.

"Hey Adelaide, just wondering are you still able for coffee tomorrow?" It read.
Simultaneously Alaya and Kellie both awed.
"He seems so sweet" Kellie smiled.
Adelaide was nervous, she barely knew Brodie. What if he was actually an asshole? She tried not to think about it and responded quickly.
"Hi Brodie, yep still free. I'll see you there!"
