*Caleb's POV (Point of view)
SO I didn't want it to be this way. But I just saw it coming.
Just before the class started, I sat beside Audrey. We started talking about the most randomest things. We gossiped, haha I know. Weird for a guy. But we noticed how Manda Layne had the most funniest nose crunch, when she needed to sneeze, and how after that sneeze, big Jock jerk, Clark just got terrified of the germs. He'd point and jump onto the desk. We both just laughed like crazy. His friends asked what was so funny, as they formed a fist, and pounded it with the other hand, and we just became silent. They left, and we just started laughing all over again, at how big of a jerk he was, and how big he was scared of these sneezes. Haha. Jerk.
All the sudden, Clark comes over and starts flirting with Audrey. WHAT?! He asks her out to some party, and I just grab a hold of her hand. I squeeze it as hard as I could, and Audrey just turns to me, whispering "ow." And Clark starts pulling her towards her, and some what I felt.. weird. It wasn't usual for the jerks to ask out us "OUTLANDERS" or at least what they've been calling us for years, since we had "The funny accent" Audrey starts jerking back, but he pulls her in to his chest even more, stronger and I hold onto her hand, trying to help her out.
A new student comes in. The girls just draw drop, literally, and stare. Even Audrey! I was even more pissed at this jerk. I didn't like him. He just seemed to.. arrogant. Walking into the classroom, like nobody's business. He made me want to... Rghhh. So he approaches Clark, and all the sudden takes Clark's giant hands, and twists them in a pretzel. The girls yelp and giggle, and Audrey sits their blushing. He winks at Audrey, "Hey, beautiful." I turn red too, but not the red Audrey's feeling. She mumbles "Uhh.. Thankss" I try to look him in the eyes, and finally they lay on me. His eyes are this deep shade of green, somewhat "attractive" to all these girls. Once he seats Clark, he takes a seat behind us. He has no partner, making him the odd one out.
Oh but this just gets better, and better. All the girls screech their chairs, and literally go ga-ga, over this dude. I said, oh why now. They giggle as they touch his flex of an arm, and so gets all the girls to go crazy. I wonder.. Oh where, oh where could the teacher be, OH WHERE. But all I get is a classroom filled with screaming girls. Audrey, all the sudden, turns around and gashes over him. I was like, thanks Audrey. Sure. Leave me alone. And right that split second, the teacher comes in. THANK THE LORD. He sent all the frilly girls back to their seats, and welcomed this Alien. He says "Lets all Welcome Ashton Boulanger , who comes from America! " Oh great. Now me and Audrey aren't the only ones. I thought it'd kinda be sweet, me and her being the only ones with the funny accents. Now, we've got this kid. The one that'd probably be hanging with us after this class.
*********BELL RINGING*************
The period's over. Damn. I walk with Audrey, hand in hand, just in case we can't find each other after all the girls squeal over to the last person out of class, Ashton . So I was right. All the girls waited right in front of the door, blocking the entrance, waiting for Ashton to come out. I keep walking with Audrey, but all the sudden, she halts. Right beside those... Astonettes. I say "Common! Lets go get some lunch!" I pat my belly, and just as like on time, it growls. She hears it, and says "Oh. Okay" So she still stays there, but just to get a glimpse.. Of what? Oh. ASHTON. Great.
I just start to get angry at her "AUDREY! HE'S JUST A JERK! WHAT'S TO EVEN SEE OF HIM?" She looks at me with stinging eyes. " Oh yeah? THEN WHY DID HE TRY TO HELP ME WHEN CLARK WAS STRANGLING ME? YOU DID NOTHING BUT SIT AND PULL ME!" I couldn't respond. Her answer was.. correct. I did just sit there. I didn't do anything but pull her. Then I just stared at my stomach.. It was still growling.. All the girls stared as they heard it. Audrey just laughed, and hid infront of me. We stood there smiling. But I could still see in her eyes, she was angry with what I said. Then Ashton comes out, all the girls yelling and kicking, but approaches us. I guess with the attitude I used on Audrey, I'd have to go along with her. I couldn't loose her.
"Hey Ashton!" Audrey yells. Ashton takes her by the hip, and pulls her close to him. So I guess it wasn't okay for Clark to do so, but he could? Wow... She just starts to blush like crazy.. Giggling like.. the giggle she had when we met. Aha, I loved that laugh. But she only made that laugh, when she really loved me at the moment. WHY ASHTON?! So he asks her, without even noticing me " Hey beautiful. You really caught my eye today. How 'bout we go get some lunch?" And then Audrey just starts to giggle like crazy.. Again.. And turns around and looks at me. She begs and pleads while Ashton signs girls boobs, or arms. I guess he was okay with it, because most of the girls had his signature on their chests. I don't see girls asking me to sign their bojangles.
But Audrey made the puppy dog face, and dropped to the floor, on her knees. She had her hands together, pleading and I just couldn't give in.. She mouthed "Please, please please with a cherry on top!" And I couldn't just stare at that face and say no. Stay strong, Caleb.
But she started whimpering, and I just couldn't bare to see her in agony just to have lunch with this guy. She crawled across the hallway to me, literally grabbing my leg, pulling my skinny jeans. " Please, please, Caleb!!" After that dream, I couldn't just let her in the arms of a stranger. But she seemed so desperate to be with this guy. Why didn't she react like this when I have lunch with her? I felt bad.. So I just let her.
She kissed me on the cheek, and said " I love you! Thank you so much" I blushed, and just swayed " Anytime, Audrey" She ran across the hall and hooked arms with this stranger. I turned and walked away, poking my stomach. The croaking never stopped. I guess I could drive by myself to McDonalds, or something. Maybe I'll eat alone today, in the cafeteria. Something about him didn't make me trust him.. I just couldn't risk loosing her. She meant too much to me. But did I mean the same thing to her?
