Chapter five: Titanic
Waking up to "Toxic" is usually the best way to do it, but not this time at all.
I should change my ringtone.
I sat up on the bed and rubbed my eyes, reaching for my phone. It was Mylène. At 6:30 am on a Tuesday!
What's wrong with her?
Her: Come to Elena's. NOW!
Me: Why?? I was sleeping... and dreaming...
Her: Then get your ass up off your bed and come here. We need your help. I don't know what else to do!
There was a crying voice in the background. Oh, no!
Me: Okay, okay! I'm coming.
Mylène: Thank you, I'll owe you this one.
You better, 'cuz I need a coffee
Me: Prepare a coffee for me when I get there. I'll need it.
Her: Your favourite's still latte, right?
Aw, she remembers
Me: Yes. With sugar!
Her: I know, two teaspoons.
She's the best.
Me: I'll be right there. Love ya.
Her: Love ya.
I got up carefully, Lupi was still asleep and I definitely did not want to wake him up. Mom would have killed me if he had started to run around the house at 6:30 am and woken her up.
I hate getting up early, especially in winter and on weekdays. If school starts at 9, I must be up by 8, not 6:30; 6:30 is too soon, no one wakes up at 6:30.
I got dressed and left home. My stomach rumbled when it realized I wasn't going to have breakfast.
She better have some food, too.

Mylène opened the door as soon as I rang the bell.
"Finally!" She shouted, pulling me in. "Come! It's urgent. I've never seen her like that before."
Thank God I don't have any heart disease.
She led me to the living room. Elena was sitting on the couch, sobbing, and Mabel was beside her, trying her best to comfort her.
"Thank God you came," Mabel mouthed to me.
"What happened here?" I asked, facing Mylène.
"So, we all crashed here yesterday," she started.
"And you didn't invite me?" I exclaimed.
"Oh, please, it was girls night!" Mabel said.
"It was 'girls night'? Since when is there a 'girls night'? And why isn't there a 'friends night'?"
"'Friends night'!?" she cackled. "You sound like one of those people who complain about there not being a straight pride month."
My jaw dropped.
"Don't you pull this card on me! It's a very different situation."
"Oh, come on! Are you jealous because we invited a male stripper?" I raised an eyebrow ."Oh yeah, he took ALL his clothes off. It's too bad you weren't here!"
