It seems to be that we keep going deeper and deeper into Louisiana until we pulled up to one of those boats you see people on when they're hunting gator. Admittedly I got on with no questions asked because I was half asleep. I ended up falling asleep in Laines arms again. Once I started to wake up I asked what we were doing.
"We're going fishing!" Laine and Micah said excitedly.
"And..." Laine continues, "if you don't like fishing when the sun starts to set, which is soon, it'll be the most beautiful bayou you will ever see."
"It's the only bayou I've ever seen" I joke.
"There she is" Micah chuckles, "it takes you so long to wake up."
I playfully roll my eyes at him in response.
"Do you know how to use one of these fishing rods?" Laine asked holding up a complicated looking rod.
"Not even a little" I say wondering how it works.
"Okay so what you do is..." he began to explain.
"How I about I just watch you boys fish?" I interrupt Laine so I don't even have the chance to break it.
"You mean how about you watch Laine fish while he gets frustrated when no fish bite on his line" Micah laughs.
"What you mean Micah?" Laine says, "I catch more fish than you do"
They both break out into laughter.
I just sit there in amusement wishing I had popcorn.
I heard Laine humming a song that I had recognized.
"Hey I know that song!" I say in excitement!
"Really?" He says confused.
"Yea my roommate back at home is always singing it, it always gets stuck in my head but I never end up figuring out who's song it is" I reply.
Laine giggles.
"You're lookin at em"
"No way!" I begin, "I love that song it's just always in my head"
"Y'all can't tell me that all of this wasn't written for a romance movie. This is unreal" Micah said in a serious tone.
We all looked at one another for a moment before bursting into laughter.
The sun began to set and it was so romantic.
It was beautiful. The light peaking through the trees and the reflection of it all on the water.
I loved it. I could tell Laine and Micah did too.
We all got quiet just looking off into the distance. Although I broke that silence.
"This is breathtaking" I say enamored, "I don't know if I could ever leave this place"
I meant it with every inch of my being. I loved every piece of Louisiana more and more as the seconds went by and I didn't ever want to leave.
"Then don't" Laine said looking at me.
I was shocked at his response so I sat in silence for a moment.
"Why let go of something if you love it?" Micah asked backing up Laines idea.
"We'll see" I said deep in thought, "we'll see."I'll write more tonight I promise. I'm just having a very busy day. If you have any suggestions please make sure to let me know.
