"So what do you want to do?" Chelsea asked.
"I don't know" I begin, "I don't really think it matters as long as I'm with you guys"
"Awe what a cute sappy answer" Micah reply's.
I don't want to get to deep into the details of that day. It's something I want to keep in my heart, a memory for only the few of us. Just know that there is no day and there will never be a day that will top it. Laine and I had gotten closer than ever. Micah and I are even closer friends, and Chelsea and I, well it's like we've known each other our entire lives. It was a magical day in Louisiana but unfortunately now it is 9:00pm and it's time for me to go home. We made it to the airport with about 30 minutes to spare so I wouldn't be late.
"Are you sure you have to go?" Laine says looking me in the eye with his hand on my cheek.
I could tell he was sad. He was holding back tears that began to swell in his eyes.
"Hey look at me" I began to say wiping the tear that started falling down his cheek, "I'll be gone for a few days and I'll be back in no time. I promise".
I give him a small smile and he hugged me as tight as he could.
"We're gonna miss you" Chelsea said.
I was still in Laine a arms.
"Group hug" Micah yelled as he and Chelsea joined in our hug.
"I gotta go you guys" I say letting them go.
"Be back soon okay" Laine said with a fake smile.
He gave me a kiss that I felt throughout my whole being. My heart, my soul, and every inch of my body.
"I'll be back soon" I say as I leave to go through customs.
I admittedly cried as I was walking away. The few days I had in Louisiana were the best few days of my life. I made great friends, one a bit closer than the others, if you know what I mean. I didn't want to leave. Honestly, although Louisiana was beautiful, what I was going to miss the most was Laine. I didn't want to leave him. He makes me happier than I have ever been and I think I made him happy too. We had this chemistry I never even knew existed. It was magic. Euphoric even. When I got to the gate I sat in a chair and texted Laine.
"I miss you already :("
He quickly replied,
"Don't be sad the world is better with your smile in it :) you said it yourself, you'll be back in no time"
He said another message that read,
"I miss you too but I promised I'd be happy for you, remember. So now it's your turn"
"Okay I'll be happy for you" I replied, "I gotta board the plane now I'll text you when I can"
I boarded the plane and found my seat. It felt like the longest flight of my life and given that I had flown to England from New Mexico before that's saying a lot. I was hungry and sad and scared. I had to go from the airport straight to the office where I was to sign a record deal contract. I was to sign with Atlantic records. I have always respected there work and have listened to a few of their signed artists. After I had grabbed my bags there was a man in a suit with a name card waiting for me at the airport entrance. I walked up to him and introduced myself.
"Hello I am Sheree" I said with a smile.
"Nice to meet you ma'am, if you would just follow me I'll show you to your ride sent by Atlantic records and I'll take your bags" he says in a professional tone.
"Oh thank you" I say a bit shocked.
As we walk to the limo a notice a few people stopping and taking photos of the man and I.
I heard a few teens whispering as I walked by,
"That man is an Atlantic records driver, she must be the rumored new artist".
It made me smile a little bit. Although I was nervous. I wasn't sure if I was ready for this life. I did know one thing though, I was ready to dive in and find out. We quickly arrived at a sleek black limo. When I got in it all felt like a dream. People ran towards the limo as if they knew who I would end up being. There was bottles of champagne in buckets of ice and a Minnie fridge full of waters and juices and cokes. We were really in la, the land of dreams and artists and everything I have always wanted to be a part of. I never cared for fame as I grew up. All I ever wanted to do is make people happy because that's what music has always done for me. When I got out of the limo there were people lined up by the building. So many that security had to help me inside. The driver brought my luggage upstairs to the meeting room. I looked over the contract with a lawyer and quickly signed my name as soon as I had gotten the green light to do so.
"Are you ready to meet the rest of our artists?" Craig callman said.
So much was running through my head, I didn't know I'd have to meet the other artists and I was so happy and scared and excited all at once. I couldn't get words to come out. Although I did manage to nod.
"Well then let's do this" he replied.
