When slavery started getting questioned, it was the Quakers who were the ones to do it. Because of the fact that one of their values is equality Quakers were almost always abolitionists, people who did all they could to abolish slavery, whether through, acting as station masters when the underground railroad came or creating several organizations to helping free African Americans, or many other ways.
After about an hour, the slave hunter left and the woman opened the hidden door and let me out. I asked what had happened and she said that he had an injured friend who had fallen down a rock side, and he found him nearby wailing in pain.
The rest of the day went the same as usual, although I decided using the cover of night would be better so I stayed all day. I was still limping around, but I felt well enough to help around the place. There were more patients in the building then I had first realized. A lot of people had accidents while out exploring the surrounding forests, in fact there were a few kids there as well. I helped by brining water to people, along with other supplies such as bandages.
When the day was done and I was already a little tired but I felt better about myself knowing that I helped keep a bunch of people alive, but it was time to go. The woman had a hired conductor, he brought over two horses one for me and the other for himself. I already hd experience in riding a horse because back at the plantation thats what the plows were pulled by so my father taught how to ride it
