(Annabelle's POV)
I sit in my seat at the back of the class, thankful nobody talks to me because I have a pounding headache; suddenly the door to the classroom slams open.
I looked up where the sound came from noticing a guy at the front of the class, he must be new because I haven't seen him before.
He had dyed hair; black hair with red tips and a shark bite lip piercing and was dressed in all black and standing in a nonchalant pose as the teacher forced him to introduce himself.
"The name is Colby, and that's all you need to know," He said with his arms crossed.
"Colby, you can take the seat in front of Adam," The teacher said brushing off Colby's attitude, Colby rolled his eyes as he walked to go take his seat, we made eye contact for a second before I realized everyone was staring at me, I shifted uncomfortably in my seat.
My twin brother, Adam is the complete opposite of me; He's a jock, and is in the popular crowd. He's tall, with short messy brown hair, with mischievous brown eyes.
Adam is always looking for a fight or someone to pick on, and normally who else is there but me.
"Alright class I'm going out for a bit, you all can relax or read or something till the bell," Mr. Patey said as he was leaving the class room.
"Hey Bella, I think this guy is trying to steal your look, don't you always tell mom that there's only one freak and that's the roll you were given?" Adam said loudly making Colby turn towards me as well as every other head in the room.
"Well not all of us can look so preppy, your so fake my eyes feel like their bleeding," Colby said turning his back on Adam.
There was silence, no one had ever had my back especially in this hell hole.
"Shut up emo boy you have no part in this," Adam said pushing Colby out of his seat everyone laughed as he hit the floor.
"Well he has a point I thought we were far from family yet you bring our mom into this, if I remember correctly last year you said we were basically strangers, now you want to say we are family that is pretty confusing," I said sarcastically as I doodled on my notebook.
"Well its not my fault you turned into such a freak!" He got up angrily pulling his bag off the back of his chair everyone laughed.
"Sure you can you can start by keeping your mouth shut and leaving me alone," I said not looking up at him and packing up my things before the lunch bell rings.
"Whatever loser," Adam said before leaving with his pack of clowns.
Colby got up to leave but I grabbed his wrist without thinking.
"Um yes?" Colby asked."I just wanted to thank you for sticking up for me," I said letting him go.
"I didn't, he was attacking me so I stood up for myself. Nothing more, nothing less," He said and then walked away.
The bell rings and I head to my second favorite place of the school the first floor roof, I'm not allowed me on the higher roof because of my brother telling faculty that I'd jump if I was alone, which isn't true it's just another one of his reasons to make my life miserable.
I opened the doors feeling the sun hit my face as I went and sat against the wall drinking in the rays of sun.
I hear the door slam open and Adams laugh; a gasp came from inside I got up to see what was happening and seen Colby sprawled across the floor.
I rolled my eyes and went to take my spot against the wall, if he wanted to be a jerk I'll let him suffer.
Suddenly I heard Adam's girlfriend; Stacy laugh, "How pathetic on top of him being a freak he also told Paul, that the only one who caught his eye was that other freak show," She hissed at the last part, I looked over getting ready to tell them to get lost that I'm the only one allowed up here.
Suddenly Colby shot through the doors lunging at Adam almost knocking them both off the roof, Adam turns it around and began beating Colby's head in, noticing how close they were to the edge I ran and tried to stop them, and that's when I realized I was falling.
Adam pushed me, he pushed me off the roof and pain went through my back to the rest of my body and I blacked out.
