Link’s P.O.V

“Link! Wake up! WAKE UP!”

The familiar voice caused me to open my eyes, I mumbled and groaned as I looked up. My eyes suddenly met with Zelda’s, and my face showed complete bewilderment.

“Zelda! Are you Ok!?” I tried to stand, but realised that I had been immobolised. I was trapped.

“I’m fine, Link.” I heard her reply in a calm tone. I gave a deep sigh of relief.

Suddenly, a Demon’s voice bounced around the room we were in. “Well, what a pleasant reunion this is!” He appeared before me and pranced in my direction, like a child. Ghirahim placed his hand under my chin.

“ You see that over there, Skychild? That’s you’re friend over there, you’re precious little goddess, you’re precious Zelda. Do you know what that means?”

I shook my head free from his grasp. I looked to the ground in defeat, realising what has happened.

“I failed…”

"What was that Skychild? I didn’t quite catch that.” Replied Ghirahim in his sarcastic voice. I was irritated immensely.

“I FAILED!”

I felt so guilty and I felt like a complete weakling. I failed my best friend. I sighed.

“I’m… I’m so sorry Zelda. I failed the mission. I failed… you…” I couldn’t stand to see her expression. I let my head drop.

“No Link! You haven’t failed! You couldn’t have-“

“But I did! I snapped back unintentionally.

While we both continued to disagree what was the truth, Ghirahim decided to interrupt.

“Let’s not fight over such pointless things, huh? This is a reunion for the love of Nayru! Let’s enjoy it, embrace it!” He paused, but quickly continued.

“Let’s play a game I like to call: Who can last the longest

It wouldn’t take a detective to know what Ghirahim had in planned. Although I myself didn’t know, it couldn’t be a good thing.

I instantly looked at Zelda, and I could tell she was just as afraid as I was. I looked at her with regretful eyes, realising that a few moments ago, we were actually arguing with eachother. ‘I’m so sorry Zelda…

He explained the game to us. “Ok, the way this works is in the title; who can last the longest? I will do something to you, and we all get to see who will last the longest! It’s quite simple really! Or is that still too much for you to handle Skychild?” I wish I could kill Ghirahim just by giving him a “death glare”. I growled at his remark. “Shall we commence? I’m getting impatient.”

Zelda and I eyed eachother suspiciously, assuming we were thinking of the same thing. Zelda is the one who asked

“Ghirahim… what are we lasting ‘from’ exactly?”

I heard that her voice broke slightly, and it was obvious that she was quite fearful. This is all my fault

He quickly vanished, but returned again in front of Zelda, bending down to her level. I tried to break away from the post, afraid that he’ll lay a finger on her.

He whispered something and then disappeared again. I could hear Zelda’s breathing was rough and quite audible. I tried getting her attention, but it looked as though she couldn’t hear me
