"What the hell?" Nova asked.

She got up to see she was surrounded by nothing. It was plain darkness for miles. Or, was it really miles? Nova began to think of the possibility that this area could just be a small box, but she hurriedly shook the thought out of her head to ease her anxiety.

The second victim found her new home.

"Hello, Nova," she heard an echoed voice say. She whipped her head around in all directions, looking for the owner of the voice.

"Who? What? Where?" she asked her questions one right after the other. At that moment, Alpha appeared out of thin air in front of her.

"It's only me, Alpha," he declared.

"Wait a minute... you're dead, and I'm dead..." Nova trailed off, trying to make sense of the current situation. "Where are we?"

"Hell if I know," the boy responded. "Do you see any signs that existence is present?"

"Hmm... guess not," Nova shrugged. "Hey, are there any snacks or something? I'm hungry for some Doritos, or Oreos, or Doritos inside Oreos."

Alpha blankly stared. "Ok, you are officially disgusting." He started pacing back and forth with his hands behind his back. "But, to answer your question, no, there is no food here. However, I may have a solution to your problem." The boy grabbed Nova's shoulders and spun her around so that she was facing forward. Alpha pointed off to the distance. "See that, over there?"

Nova's eyes immediately widened at the sight. "Oh my God. Is that-?"

"Shhh!" Alpha held a finger over his nose. "Don't ask questions. Just admit it exists."

"It exists," Nova affirmed.

"Apparently, if you ask for something, you get it. I asked for a companion, and I got you in returned."

"Aww, that's really nice." Nova turned to face Alpha and smiled at him.

Alpha smirked in response. "I didn't really want you, but, we do with what we got. Anyways, try asking for some food."

Nova cupped her hands around her lips to help project her voice. "Give me some food, bitch!"

"No, Nova. You got to introduce yourself and be more polite," Alpha said. "Almost as if you're writing a letter."

Nova giggled. "That's silly. We don't have paper."

Alpha shook his head and placed his hand over his forehead. "I think you were dropped on your head when you died. Just, talk to it like you're giving a speech."

"Gotcha," the girl responded. She cleared her throat before continuing, looking straightforward. "Hello. I am Nova -- or, I was Nova? I don't know, being dead is confusing, man. Anyways, I'm in the mood for some munchies, so give us someone with like, a pizza, or something." She turned to Alpha. "Ok, now what?"

"Now, we wait to see who will join us, based on what they decide."

"Oh," Nova said. The two stood there in silence before the girl had a thought. "Hey, wait, how are you gonna tell me to be polite when you're normally rude as hell? Huh, Alphar00d?"

"Just shut up," Alpha ordered. And then, the two faded into the darkness.
