Chapter 9 || Temptations

"Venice Edwards!" Someone shouted at me, making my eyes snap open and let a sharp gasp of surprise.

The voice belonged to my math teacher, I didn't bother leaning her name, or listening to her, or doing any of my work. Somehow I still managed to pass the class which shock me, I refused to answer any questions on the test but still got B-.

"Yes Ms." I said my eyes struggling to stay open.

"Are you even listening?"

"No Ms." I answered and everyone laughed around me.

She sighed and shook her head in disappointment but dropped the conversation and went back to teaching the class.

Calum, who sat beside me reached over and grabbed my hand, his thumb running over my knuckles softly. I smiled gently at him, he was far to good for me but I was to selfish to give him up. I used him to forget about Harry and the growing feelings I felt for the curly headed British boy.

I'd only known Harry for about 5 months and I had fallen, not to deep but deep enough. Calum was suppose to help, he did get my mind off him but when I was alone to think, all my thoughts were consumed by him.

I thought about the most stupid things like, when am I going to see him next. Or what should I wear when I see him next. It made me feel like a little school girl who had a crush on one of the boys in her grade. It was stupid.

Harry usually wasn't my type, he was cocky and arrogant but also sweet and cheeky and cute. I usually went for older guys who I had absolutely no feelings for but just wanted some attention. Calum was also not my type, but I still had small feelings for him.

Calum was basically my best friend with benefits. We acted like best friends but could kiss each other and sleep in the same bed and do all the couple stuff.

I was never really good with relationships, my standards were extremely low, I didn't go into them expected anything, I cheated on the guy most of the time and I never really paid attention to him. But Calum was to sweet to me to even think about cheating or ignoring him, I know I didn't expect anything from this but I didn't have to, Calum just did what I should expect. He would drop anything for me, when we fought he would try and calm me down, when we broke up, which was a lot, he would come to my door around a week later with flowers, chocolates and a teddy bear, saying he wanted to get back together, which we did.

Calum was sweet, but he was too sweet. Harry was sweet for around thirty minutes, then turn into an asshole and ignored me.

"Babe?" Calum shook me slightly.

I looked up at him through my mascara coated lashed and hummed a response, smiling at him.

"It's time to go." He laughed.

I noticed no one else was in the classroom besides Calum and I. I jumped up and collected my bag from behind my chair.

"Oh."

He laughed again and entwined our hands as we set out of the class room together.

"So I was thinking, instead of catching a ride with Harry, you could just come back to mine with me. We could watch cute movies and eat popcorn." He smiled at me, letting go of my hand and swinging his arm around my shoulder, pulling me into his lean body.

"Sure, I just need to tell Harry that he doesn't need to take me."

Calum nodded and let his arm dropped from my should, I gave him a peck on his lips. He headed towards his old pick up truck and headed towards Harry's sleek, black Range Rover.

Harry leaned against the hood of the vehicle, his arms crossed his chest and glared at me.

"Hows your boyfriend?" He asked, still not moving from his position.

"Just lovely thank you." I smiled sarcastically at him, "You don't need to drive me home, I'm going back to his house."

I didn't let him answer before I stalked off, the feeling of his glare never left my back as I made my was over to my Australian boyfriend. He smiled at me and we stepped into his car.

Harry's stare still hadn't left me until we pulled out of the parking lot. As he dropped his gaze I felt disappointed in the fact that he wasn't watching me anymore.

"Luke Robert Hemmings! You asshole, give me back my fucking phone!" I screamed but not too loud as Calum laid on the couch snoring softly.

"There's someone calling you!" He shouted back.

Who would be calling me? It wouldn't be my mother, Erin, Bree or any of the guys as they were here, it was Monday so Erin and Bree wouldn't need me and I had already told my mother I would be here.

"Who is it?" I yelled still trying to find the 6 foot man-boy.

"Harry Styles!"

I stopped dead in my track, why would he be calling me? I shook my head and shrugged, most likely looking like a retard, and set of to find Luke again.

He sat on his bed with my phone against his ear. He gave me a smirk and a wink.

"Hello?" He said in a dark voice I'd never heard come out of his mouth, "No Venice will most probably never speak to you again." He said again using the same voice.

"Luke!" I shouted and tackled him onto his bed.

Somehow I managed to pull the phone out of his giant hands and pressed it to my ear.

"Harry?"

"Venice, where are you." He let out a loud breath like he had been holding it in.

"At Calum's, like I told you."

"Then who was that?" He asked frantically, if I didn't know him I would have thought he'd been worried about what Luke had said.

"That's just Luke." I said glaring over at his giggling self.

"Is he another guy your fucking with?" Harry hissed through the phone and I gasped.

How could Harry think so low of me that I would cheat on Calum, and with Luke his best friend, which made it worst. I hung up the phone not wanting to deal with him anymore.
