Chapter 3 – Bound By Oath
{Kuza POV}
I laughed as Selina told me about her first time trying spells as a teenager and how she’d bodged one, the result had been an explosion that had turned her hair the shade it was now, but she’d liked the dark blue so much she kept it; and I had to admit it was quite fetching, particularly how the moonlight trickled through it now as I walked her home from lessons.
“Of course, Megs didn’t let me anywhere near spells for a month after that…not that I blame her… I did blow up her caravan…but she’s such an accomplished witch she had it fixed in under twenty minutes, so, naturally, teenage me thought it was incredibly unfair and sulked for a good fortnight…” she caught me trying to hide my snickering and glared up at me playfully. “It’s not funny!”
I simply shrugged. “Well…”
I smiled as she sighed and giggled softly. “Fine… I suppose it is a bit funny…” she let out a small huff, trying to sound annoyed but only managing to be cuter, and stopped. “well… this is me…”
I looked in the direction she pointed and raised an eyebrow at the rather ominous, Victorian looking house we’d stopped in front of. “And you had a go at me for my age and taste…” I smirked as I caught her ill-concealed blush.
“That’s different.” She sighed as she pulled her keys from her bag and opened the front gate, the ancient hinges screeching loudly.
“How exactly is it different?” I smirked, chuckling when she couldn’t answer.
“Oh…shush!” she finally chuckled with me then bit her lip, realising I’d followed her up to her front door. “Um…”
“Oh…did you not want me to come in?” I asked with a small frown.
“Oh, no, it’s not…” she trailed off and I saw something spark in her eyes as she smiled slightly. “Can I try something?”
A sly smile touched my features as I leant back on one foot and folded my arms across my chest. “Of course.”
“Hmm…” she looked at me curiously for a moment and then turned, opening her front door and stepping inside. I raised an eyebrow at her as she turned once inside and mimicked my pose. “Indulge me…” she smirked, and I was pretty sure I knew why. “Can you enter a home without an invitation?”
I let out a soft laugh and moved to lean on the doorframe, smiling wickedly. “Only yours.” I saw her next question in her eyes. “Your home is your safe haven…until you invite me in…it’s where the myth of us not being able to enter a home uninvited came from…however, it only applies to our mates homes.”
“So…” she trailed off, smiling crookedly. “I’m safe in here?”
“Technically, yes.” My smile turned evil. “But there’s more than one way to make you come out, my dear.”
“I thought as much.” She laughed quietly, and I could see her revelling in this small power she had over me…but I knew the second she’d had her fun and was over it. “Alright, I’m good now…” she gave me a coy smile as she turned away again. “Please… won’t you come in…?”

{Selina POV}
“Please…” I smiled coyly, beckoning to him as I turned towards the living room. “Won’t you come in…?” I smirked as I leant against the back of the lounge, watching Kuza as he walked in; a smug smile flitting across my face briefly. “You know… for a moment there… I felt almost… powerful.”
