"I will never get bored of banana milk"

He bought one out of the canteen's vending machine
I had gotten a small portion of japanese melon bread

I ripped apart the plastic packaging
and munched down on it as we both
walked through the school hallway

most of the other students didn't care about us
I saw some being surprised

but I was sure they had other things to worry about
than a girl and a boy from separate years walking together

I was the one who found it weird

he was good company
just the situation itself was strange

but he wasn't awkward to talk to at all
even if I didn't talk much

what sports do you like?
I had asked him that day

a conversation starter from me
for once

"I prefer martial arts
but I like soccer and basketball"

I nodded yet replied with
I don't like sports

he chuckled
"what do you like doing then?"

I chewed on my bread before answering
nothing much nowadays

he only sipped his banana milk
he didn't question me when I said unusual things such as this

what did take me by surprise
was what he said to me once we were out on the school field

"let's get you a hobby."
