|Cereal Killer?|

[Marissa]

So I'm sitting between World War III of Vermin between people I barely know. They are currently destroying my eardrums over dumb things that you would never think people would fight over. Okay, so get this. Some dude named Maco barged into the room hoping to find 'Cory's love interest' to which I was then dragged into another section of the house for intense questioning. But one phrase slipped out of Wren's mouth and Maco completely ignored the reason he even brought me here.

And I'm here sitting directly in the middle of this.

"Are you kidding me? There's no way anyone puts their toothpaste before wetting the toothbrush", Wren huffed while rolling her eyes and flinging her hands in the air.

"You got it all wrong sister! It's as wrong as putting milk before cereal", Maco gave her that good old sass and snapped his fingers with a smirk.

This couch is very comfy. This is a binge watching couch. This couc-

Wren gasped, "You are a disgrace to the human society, how dare you!"

Oh my God....

Maco laughs an evil laugh and starting sipping his tea.

Where did that cup of tea even come from?

"Um guys can you stop fi-

Maco put down the tea on the stand, "Look woman, you got this all wrong". He smirked and placed his hand on his hip.

"Oh I have it all wrong, oh no you do Mr. Cereal Killer", Wren stands and folded her arms coming closer to James.

I lean inside the couch wishing I could just disappear.

Wow, they have a fireplace? Oh right not the time.

Then suddenly, a loud gunshot sound went off behind and I ducked near the couch face touching the carpet. I didn't move. I couldn't.

"I will kill both of you if yall don't shut up.", the voice that sounded very much like Cory said.

He has a gu-Is that a tooth or bubblegum under the couch?

I squinted in disgust and peeked my head from out the couch. And there stood Cory whose eyes darted at the both them silently scolding them like little children.

"Cereal is disgusting anyways", which then caused both of the to gasp while staring at each other.

"You are a disgrace to human society!", they both said shouting like it was the most unbelievable thing in the world.

I grumbled and mumbled, "Hear we go again".

"How dare you!"
"Insulting the f-"
"Food near to the human hea-"

And another gunshot went off then Cory walked away, "Ari"

Wait did he not care that there's two holes in the w-LOOK AT ALL THE HOLES IN THE WALL!!

So I slowly got up trying to move away from Maco and Wren Because somehow they regained their argument. The only difference is that they are fighting silently poking one another in frustration.

As soon as I thought I made it far enough, I dashed out of the room to follow Cory.

"So what's the plan?", I said way too eagerly wanting to get out of this drama house. He turned slightly to glance at me and I could see his smirk.

"I wanna know show you somewhere", he said speeding his pace. We are somewhere always going somewhere.

I don't know how but some how, some way Maco and Wren heard. "I wanna come!", I heard Maco yell from the other room.

I was completely shocked when Cory said, "Run".

And well, I ran as fast as I can to the first thing outside that looked like a source of transportation. And so I jumped into this really cute Lexus. Not long I saw the man himself Cory who didn't waste time locking the vehicle and pumped the gas.

I saw Wren and Maco at the window pounding and yelling for them to entire. Cory just pressed his gas and sped off to God knows where. Wow, what's with me and driving off with guys?

"Let me guess", I pretended to be thinking really hard, "a surprise?"

He didn't even bother answer me like the jerk he was. He kept on moving west and then I realized that we were on the coast of some place that I haven't asked about.

"Where are we anyways, like state", I asked hoping that he answers this time. But to my disappointment he just ignores me once again. He kept driving faster and faster until I saw a beach with a cute dock.

He parked and didn't bother tell me anything. He just walked to the beach  with his hands in his pocket and his shades in his eyes.

I sighed and slowly got out of the vehicle not bothering trying to keep up with him. The silence was unbearable which makes me almost want to go back to Wren and Maco. Almost.

The beach was pretty deserted and isolated. From the roadside it looked like trees but when Cory passed through this tiny dirt road, there was a large beach.

He sat on the edge of the dock with his feet dangling off. I moved up to him and sat next to him. I didn't dangle my foot because for some reason I always had a fear something underwater would grab my foot and pull me with it.

We didn't talk. We didn't touch. We just sat in silence. I looked over the horizon and just meditated on the life I now live and the one I left behind. I know I shouldn't dwell on it but what am I really looking for. I feel like I lost the entire I reason I left and that I just tiptoe around everything.

I felt him watching me. I just didn't have the strength to look at him. I dont know why I needed strength to look at him but I did and I didn't have it.

"Like being silent", I could still him watching me, "You get to observe the beautiful things around you".

I turned to look at him and our eyes connected. He didn't take his eyes off me for a second, "Some things are worth observing".
