|Target Trolley|
[Marissa]
So River is adorable, quirky and bold. I just unintentionally thought about his good attributes, blushing furiously as he ate his burger.
We sat at Stacey's which was a small nature based diner with a garden even a pond. We sat closes to the door in wooden chairs with a wooden table.
"So why do you all choose to leave in such an isolated area", I turnt my head to the side in mild curiosity.
He didn't seem surprised by the question. He kept chewing, watching me carefully, "Our bloodline is bound here, this is a place where our four fathers before us lived"
I nodded my head in approval as I drank my milkshake and looked out at the little ducks in the pond.
We talked about a lot of things and he made me laugh so much. I'm intrigued by him almost at a dangerous level.
We did a lot of things that day before we came here. The place was beautiful with lakes, ponds and parks. It's like a forest estate.
Some how during fantasizing about River and our day we had, my eyes landed on a very mysterious looking guy.
He was an albino with long locs. He seemed around River's age, maybe even older.
He kept a watchful eye on us with an unfocused gaze.....does that even makes sense? I lightly tapped River's foot under the table and guide my head to the direction of the man.
I don't know why but I just felt like I needed to inform River about it. He turned and instantly stiffened for some weird reason.
His face hardened and he slowly turned to me and said "Go to the car and don't look back"
I didn't realize that would change his mood instantly. He didn't say it in angry but in a demanding state where there was no room for defiance.
He handed me his coat, "Wear this"
I took it in my hand and watched him curiously and stood slowly. I wrapped the coat around me securely and turned to the door without question.
I chose not question or let my curiosity get to me for now. I ran to the car, hoped in and locked it.
I watched through the window, squinting my eyes, I could see River pushing the man against a wall furiously.
He didn't seem scared but he's nature seemed off. Like territorial and powerful due to his stance, hovering over the man. He was like a predator being challenged by another.
All I could hear was my heavy breathing fogging up the window from the anticipation I felt. Just seeing him all riled up was kind of hot but scary too.
I've never seen an albino before an who would've thought I would see one here. To be honest, I always thought albinos looked cool.
It didn't take long before I saw him poke his finger in the man's face, pushes him and spins around to leave. I don't know what that man said but River stiffened outside the door.
His jaw tightened but shook himself off and walked to the car. He looked so calm but the fire was wild in his eyes. It was slightly lighter to a point of freaky. But just maybe it was the Sun.
He entered the car and he's aroma filled my nose, and I enjoyed it more than I should. He didn't speak, just sat in the car.
"Are you going to tell me what that was about?", I quirked my eyebrow with my arms folded.
"Lets do something fun, a little childish and a little wild", he said not even starting the car or looking at me. He just sat, looking straight forward with his hands on his lap.
"River don't ignore me", puffed slightly from frustration.
For a minute I thought he was mad until he turned to me and give me a cheeky smile.
"Its not important, what's important is that we have some fun today"
He revved the engine alive and started he's journey to who knows where. I sure hope he's really okay.
"At least tell me where we're going"
"Nope it's a surprise", he turnt his head quickly at me, winked and diverted his eyes back to the road.
"River", I growled and flipped my hair to one side. He didn't pay any mind to me and I sighed.
He was driving a pretty speedy but reserved paste. He turnt on the radio and blasted some song by Kodak Black which I personally is not a fan of. Like I have not hate to him just that my preferable style of music is different.
I turned the radio until I found a song that I was most definitely satisfied with which was Undecided by Chris Brown.
The song started to play and I forgot that River was there. I started to sing and sing not even bothering with where we were going or what we were doing.
The air was so fresh and everywhere was so vibrant. I would totally understand why River and his family would stay here.
The vehicle suddenly stopped and I barely realised. River turnt off the radio and burst out laughing.
"You're cute and all but your singing is terrible", he shook his head.
He said I'm cute.....I'm cute.
My face became crimson red and I looked like a deer caught in headlights. He laughed even louder at my now red face and neck.
I watched through the glass and saw that we was at, "Target? Really?"
"Yes, really", River turned to me, "It'll be fun, come on"
I sighed but complied.
He stepped out the car and I trailed behind him. The cool air conditioning hit my face tremendously as River grabbed a trolley and gave it a twirl.
"Let's have some fun", he smirked and I instantly knew what he was talking about. We are so going to get in trouble for this.
"Okay", I smirked back, "Let's"
