I just kept my head straight ahead with tears pouring down my face.
The anger steamed through my body and the pain and numbness settled silently in my heart.
The rain was falling, worse than I've ever seen before. I don't even know where I'm driving to.
I let my rage drive me. I let my emotions bring me where ever it may.
I speed 80 mph and the meter keeps going higher and higher as I maneuver through the wet road. I couldn't think clearing....I wasn't thinking clearing.
I mean today is my birthday....why now? At the age of sixteen to find out you're adopted in the most unexpected way possible. I know.I sound like a spoil brat...honestly I don't care if I do. This is well was my identity, where I belonged. Everything I knew was stripped away because my truth was really my lies.
My face turnt bright red and swollen. I clenched my hands around the wheel and hit the gas again. I made sharp left and right turns while my mind scattered all over the place.
They must be looking for me by now but I'm long gone. I've been driving since last night but now was the time the anger really released. As I think about it for some reason I got angrier.
They never bothered, they didn't give me a chance to find myself. They were being selfish.
After all of this, I still blame myself. How could I not see this? I been even a blind person could see how different their features and personality was from me.
Why wasn't I smart enough to figure this out....my eyes were just focused on unimportant things like popularity. And I didn't even notice I sat comfortably in a place I should call home, calling strangers my parents.
Caution signs flashes as I kept driving so I tried to stop. It was an entirely failed attempt.
I locked in my brakes but my tires just kept screeching. Then a car came across the intersection due to the diversion created for construction.
And I had no other choice but to swerve out of the road.....
