Chapter 4 Seth

As I re enter the room I am confronted by the sight of my brother and a guy who I had only met tonight I think his name is Don? squaring off.

"What the hell?" I go towards my brother when I feel someone grab my arm attempting to stop me,

"No way man" some long haired loser says to me. Does he really think that his puny hand on my arm is going to stop me.

I stare down at him, the look I on my face must have made him rethink his choice because he drops his hand rather hurriedly.

"They're fighting over a girl"

I must have had the blankest stare on my face because he sighs and elaborates .

"That hottie with the big knockers"

I feel my blood start to boil and I clench my fist just as Shane takes a swing at Don completely missing the target next thing I know Shane is on the ground and Don is flogging the hell out of him.

I forget all about loser boy and head straight for Don, I can feel my temper soaring as I reach down and grab the collar of Dons shirt successfully pulling him off my brother and throwing him to the ground.

I look down at Shane his nose looks broken and there was blood all over his face and from what I could see he also had a busted lip.

before I can even go to him I feel something connect with my shoulder, I slowly turn around my eyes connecting with Dons.

I watch as his eyes go wide realising what he has done. Before I can react I see Lexi come flying into the room heading straight for Shane. Don took my moment of distraction to land a punch to my jaw. I went reeling back a little bit, but the force wasn't enough to knock me down. Have I mentioned that I'm pretty buff, I go to the gym quite regularly, and I do competitive boxing most weekends.

I flex my neck and stare him dead in the eye, I notice the colour drop from his face. before I can make a move he turns around and starts running for the door, loser face following behind him.

Jye starts clapping a look of happiness across his face. He loves when I fight, he loves it more when he gets to join, but I think he was just happy to bare witness tonight.

I turn toward Shane and Lexi, I can see she had him sitting up, trying to stop the blood coming from his nose and lip.

"What the hell was that about" I demand to know.

I watch Shane advert his eyes not wanting to meet mine or Lexis eyes. I have a feeling I know what is going on and I have a feeling if he were to say it Lexi wouldn't be happy.

Part of me wants him to say it but I cant quite bring myself to hurting Shane like that so I let it go.

"Shane? what happened" I watch as Lexi desperately tries to search his face for an answer.

Shane tries to push her away and stand up. A look comes across Lexis face as she moves back and stands up.

I go over to Shane and help him stand up not meeting Lexis eyes, this had nothing to do with me.

"Shane was this over me?"

No one can mistake her for a dummy I thought, despite her looks she had a brain which was a refresh from the girls I usually hang around.

Shane doesn't meet her eyes which was a dead give away.

I grimace as Lexi nods and turns around on her heels and leaves the room.

"What were you thinking?" I ask Shane.

He looks at me with an aggressive look coming across his face. " He started it!".

I nod, I had seen my brothers temper many times especially when he had been drinking. When he got like this it was best to avoid him, otherwise I would probably punch his head in myself. I cant see my parents being overly happy with that so I to turn and walk away.
"Was she a good kisser!" Shane calls after me.

I stop in my tracks and slowly turn back around. Ah so that is what this about, the stupid game.

"Well it wasn't bad" I say shrugging my shoulders, no one said I was a saint.

Next thing I know Shane is launching himself across the room towards me.

I dodge him and he stumbles against the wall, a look of annoyance coming across his face, he tries again and I dodge him. He falls into Jye who grabs his shoulders straightening him up.
"You don't want to do this" he tells Shane, but the look on Shanes face suggests he does.

Before he can go me again Lexi walks back in, she looks between Shane and I. I watch her eyebrow raise questioningly.

Shane falters, in his new attempt to get me and stares at her a look of anguish coming across his face.

I watch as she shakes her head, " You have got to be kidding me".

"Lexi, its not what it looks like" Shane pleads with her as he approaches her.

She holds up a hand, " I don't want to know" She looks at me her eyes lingering a little more then was necessary I notice.

I watch her walk out again and Shane giving me a dirty look stumbles out after her.

"Well that was interesting" Jye says to me as he walks over.

Jye had been my mate since grade school, he knew pretty much everything about Shane and I.

"At least we ain't having to get bail this time" I laugh racking my fingers through my hair,

Jye gives me a weird look, but doesn't say anything.

I know the look all to well. He wants to ask me something but is trying to think of a good way to broach the subject. I have a feeling I know what the subject was so I stay silent.

I watch him make up his mind before blurting out. "What's the deal with Lexi?".
