3rd POV

Tanya was furious with Kate, she wanted to lunge at her with rage. But she stops herself. She needed to know why Kate wanted Harper gone, and why now?! Now, after everyone had grown so fond of her.

"Why do you suddenly want to discuss this now?" She raises her voice.

"Tanya please. I'm only worried about our safety. Try to understand."

"What's happened?" Eleazar asks, rushing to the living room.

Kate looks down at the floor then looks back up to Eleazar. "I think we need to take Harper back to the agency." She confesses.

"Why? Harper is a part of this family." Carmen says.

"Tanya, what happens when Harper gets older and she finds about us?"

Tanya haven't given much thought about that. She wanted to wait till the time was right. On the other hand, she couldn't help but think that this wasn't just about that. "Tell me the truth Kate. What is this really about?"

She doesn't answer for a moment. Garrett enters the room. He looks at Kate, concerned as everyone else.

"Kate?"

"I'm afraid." She say.

"Of what?" Tanya asks. There was concern in her eyes now.

"What happens if the Volturi find out about her, and they accuse us of exposure? I don't want us to suffer the same pain when we lost Irina. Not again."

Garrett holds onto her. It all made sense. This wasn't about Harper being human but losing another member of our family. The loss of Irina was utterly painful. Tanya still remembers that day. It's as though it were only yesterday when it happened. She still remembered her last words.

"I'm sorry"

"IRENA!"
Her voice echoes loudly in her head, when she was forced to watch her sister be broken apart, then burned to ash. She closes her eyes shut to remove the image from her mind. Kate had every reason to fear for their safety. Despite that, she wasn't giving Harper back. She loved her too much. She was her. She places her hands on Kate's shoulders and looks straight into her eyes.

"It'll be alright, I promise. When the time is right, I will be the one to tell Harper the truth, and I'll be the one who changes her."

She hugs Kate tightly. She could tell her response was unexpected. Nonetheless, she's made her decision. She will change Harper when she was old enough, but not without giving her a choice. She nods her head to Carmen, silently thanking her. Everyone gathered around Kate to comfort her. All of a sudden, cries were coming from Harper's room. Tanya rushes to her without a moment's thought, and there she was, lying on the crib, crying for her mother. Her little one.

She gives her a gentle smile, carries her in her arms. Singing her the lullaby again. She calms down, then smiles at Tanya. She makes the cutest little noises. Tanya sits on the rocking chair, putting Harper falls to sleep. Any doubt she had left was gone.
