CHAPTER 43: THE STAR SABER; [1]

A/N: Hey readers, I just want to let you all know something before you begin to read the story. If you've watched the original, actual Transformers Prime- TFP for short, then you all will notice that Team Prime only found out about the Omega Keys after they obtained the Star Sabre and that Silas got 'killed' in Nemesis Prime and *spoiler alert* came back in Breakdown's corpse.

However, in my fanfic, things will go a bit differently so I'm sorry if I've caused any confusion. I will still use some episodes and plotlines from the original TFP but all rights belong to Hasbro.

Right now, Smokescreen and Evelyn were lazily driving through the streets in the town of Jasper, Nevada. They had no particular destination in mind; they were simply out for a drive for fun.

A day has passed since Smokescreen and Evelyn questioned their feelings for one another; a day since Smokescreen has slowly come to learn that he did hold romantic feelings for Evelyn while the latter still wasn't sure.

Nonetheless, they pushed their confused feelings aside in favor of simply spending time together after all the stress they've been through.

Due to her suspension, Smokescreen offered to take Evelyn out for a drive to try and cheer her up too. Evelyn was grateful for that and for the fact that her brother and aunt understood and let her off the hook this once.

"Ok, Smokes. Optimus assigned me to make sure you're up to date on traffic laws." Evelyn said remembering how the Autobot leader had asked her overlook said task.

"Aww, not this again!" Smokescreen groaned. "I'm not that behind. I already know all the rules."

"Then prove it to me. Don't worry, the sooner we get this over with, the sooner you and I can go get some ice cream." Evelyn said.

"You mean you can go get some ice cream." Smokescreen said dryly. "C'mon, Eve. Cut me some slack. It's not like the others will know. You wanna do driving? I say we go off-road."

"No can do." Evelyn said. Then she decided to play the Optimus card. "Do you wanna lie to Optimus and let him down?"

Smokescreen was quiet for a moment. "You are one sneaky little human." He said.

"I take that as a compliment." Evelyn said as she leaned back. "Okay, let's get this over with. Intersection, let's review." She said as they turned a corner with a traffic light up ahead.

"Light's green?" Evelyn asked.

"Green for go, coach." Smokescreen said easily remembering from last time.

Evelyn nodded and looked up to see a yellow traffic light up ahead. "Yellow?" she asked.

Smokescreen grinned. "Go faster!" he said.

"Ye-wait, what?!" Evelyn said before the seatbelt tightened around her and the gauge was pushed higher. "Woah woah woah! Slow down!" she yelped.

Her eyes widened in horror as the yellow light turned red. "Oh crud oh crud oh-oof!" the breath was knocked out of her as Smokescreen slammed on the brakes at the last minute, bringing them to a sudden halt. The seatbelt dug into her, knocking the air out of her lungs.

She coughed and regained her breath to hear Smokescreen's hysteric laughter.

"Hahaha! Chillax, Eve. I'm just messin' with ya but oh you should've seen your face hahaha!" Smokescreen laughed.
