"Jaane kyun dil jaanta hain,
Tu hai toh I'll be alright"
-Jaane Kyun
From
Dostana

(November 2017, Shubman is 18 years old and Smriti is 17 years 11 months old)

( A/N: I wrote this chapter is to show how close both the families have become, there will be a couple of filler chapters like this sometimes)

Smriti's POV:

"Smriti-"

"Just 5 minutes, let me sleep na please"

"Smriti"

"Shubman please yaar. Kal raath tere saat movie dekh liya na maine?!? Ab chain se soone tho dho.."

"Tu Shawn Mendes ke bare mein sapne badh mein dekh. Ab sunn".

"Shut up Shubman".

"Smriti..."
"SMRITI!!!"

I get up from my sleep. There's no way this idiot will let me sleep or do anything peacefully.

"KYA HAI?!? Ek din ke liye toh theek se sone de yaar. Kal Monday hai toh school jane ke liye jaldi utna padega..." I groan in a sleepy tone and I look at him. He is sitting on my bed and I really wish I could throw my pillow on him or push him down. I hate it jab bhi koi meri neendh karab karta hai.

"Arre sunn na! You won't believe what's happened?", he tells in a very happy and excited voice. Ab kya hua hai?

"Toh bhol na? Kya hua?!?"

"Mujhe subha ek call mila tha..", he slowly and surprisingly, in a calm tone.

"Aur?", I think I know where this is heading...

"MAIN RANJI TROPHY KE TEAM MEIN SELECT HO GAYA HOON!!!!"

"Are you serious?", I almost shout. If he was joking I would kill him now, literally. I've been wanting him to get this so badly; the Ranji Trophy might help him become a Under-19 National Cricketer, trust me he plays so well.

And Lakhwinder uncle has been working so hard with training him and everything, I can't imagine how happy and proud he would be.

He nods his head quickly and looks like a kid who just got his favourite chocolate.

"OH MY GOD Shub, I'm so proud of you!!" I tell, pulling him into a bear hug and he hugs me back. This meant so much not only for him and his family, but to me (and my family) also. Us and our families have become really close over the years.

"Oye main bhi yahan hoon!", Shahneel Di tells standing at my bedroom door, breaking our moment. Shit, I didn't notice her over there only. I pull out from the hug.

"Oh hi Di! Aap wahan akeli kyu kade ho. Yahan pe beto na aap. ", I tell her, pointing at the bed where I was sitting.

"Par bed pe toh jagah hi nahi hain na", she replies. "It's ok Di. You can just push him down and sit." I tell her, earning a glare from Shubman.
