Can I get, can I get a connection?
I can see it my, see it my reflection."

Smriti's POV

"Guys I feel like an elephant.", I groan. We just finished eating the pizza. I was in Bangalore now, staying for a few days with Shirali and Harshitha.

"So do I.", Harshitha agrees.

"Shall we walk by our school? We'll feel lighter and we haven't even seen it since a couple of months.", Shirali suggests.

"Ummm good idea. And I haven't seen it since I had gone to Chandigarh.", I agree and Harshitha nods her head.

We pay the money and walk towards our school. A few minutes later, we reach there.

I just look at it for a while, remembering all the memories there:
being all crazy with my classmates, being nervous for the PTMs, participating for the Exhibitions and Talent Fests, taking the class photo every year, ignoring the teachers' lectures and talking whenever the Chairman gave his nonsensical speeches.

"Remember our Conjoos Chairman?", I ask them.

"Oh god, don't even ask. His speeches tho- 'The last time I went to Delhi, the last time I went to Thailand, blah blah blah'. I hope he went to the Sun and is burning there now.", she tells.

"And the ways he hyperboles 'I walk all the way to Kanyakumari, I can walk till the Mount Everest'. Seriously god, I hated him so much.", Harshitha tells.

"Everyone in the school did, except the teachers obviously.", Shirali tells.

"I miss this place a lot, you know? Those were days...", I sigh.

"Hmmm. Hey by the way, main aur Harshitha sooch rahe they ki we can have a small meeting with all of our friends.", Shirali starts telling.

"But you don't have to do it you want to.", Harshitha continues.

"No, no. It's fine. Just decide a place and date, I'll also come.", I tell them.

I wasn't lying or anything, I wanted to meet them. My friends were the only ones I had left. Even when I was younger, I remember going to school being upset about my parents fighting and my friends were the only ones who could bring me out of it. Maybe I should go, my friends will make me feel better.

Two days later

I was just sitting in Shirali's room and her mom comes in.

"Smriti, what will you have for lunch?", she asks me. She is like a mother to me and the best chef on Earth.

"Just make whatever is you want aunty, I'm fine with anything.", I giggle.

"I'll make paneer, you like it na?", she asks. She knows I love it a lot.

"I think it'll do Aunty. Thanks!!", I tell her and smile at her.

I take my phone to check up my emails. I'd registered to these couple of immediate adoption websites and I have been waiting for a response from the past few weeks.

I got one. It said:

Dear Smriti.R.P,
