Carefully, he gropeshis way through the cave. A cloaked figure ventured deeper and deeperinto it, step by step. In one hand he held an oil lamp, illuminatingthe gloomy corridor. Again and again he grabbed the card he hadreceived a few days ago and checked if he was going the right way. Asit looked like he did not have it far. He had to turn right at thenext junction. Minutes dragged on, then he had reached hisdestination. "Finally, that's it!" He entered a pedestaland grabbed the long-sought artifact with the accompanying scroll. But as soon as the objects were removed, a soft click sounded. He didnot hear it and fell through a trapdoor into the darkness.

Two months have passed since i landed here inAladdin's world. At first I had to change my mind and adapt to lifehere in Agrabah. Aladdin gave me some gold for food, drink, etc. ButI did not want to live out of his pocket. So I was looking for work.I found a job at a fruit stand. The seller was Balsam, he was lookingfor someone who helped him out for a long time and with a smallrecommendation from Aladdin I got the job. The job was a lot of funand I got to know some inhabitants of Agrabah. Another advantage wasthat I was allowed to take home fruits that could not be sold thenext day. I usually put the figs and dates that I got to dry, but Iimmediately ate the melons. I still got my little money for that. Notmuch but it was enough to live. Most of my work ended in theafternoon. In our time I would say around three o'clock.

Despite all, it hurt to think of home. Imissed my family and friends a lot. I got used to going to a tavernin the evening to drink a cup of wine there, and the moody mood mademe think differently. From time to time I drank another cup of wine, and that when I met someone familiar. For example, one of therobbers. Yes, I have to admit, it took some time, but through my workI could find out which tavern the robbers went to, and so I did. Itwas very convenient for them because they could tell me if they hadany news concerning the oracles. As you can imagine, the tavern wasin one of the poorest parts of the city. I never took much money withit. At night I dreaded going back to my apartment alone after toolong a conversation. It was almost fortunate that nobody wanted torob me on the way back. I used to take my MP3 player with me todispel the silence with music, but now the battery was empty and newto get here .... well, you know that it's impossible to get new ones.Anyway, I missed a lot of technical stuff. Most might say thatinitially, cell phone internet etc., but I missed most of the time adishwasher and washing machine. Hand washing the clothes is justcorrosive.

But the nicest thing, except that I came to "home" at night, was still the viewfrom my roof on the stars. Armed with blankets and pillows, I oftenlooked up into the sky and it happened to me almost every time that Ifell asleep there and sometime in the night shivering from the coldwoke up and then i go inside in my apartment. In the morning Iusually wake up with the sun or by a crowing Rooster . I'm reallyglad that I have not overslept yet.

Also this working daypassed quickly today. In addition to the sale, my work also consistedof some small talk. I also hoped to get information about an oraclemyself, but after a while I forgot that. Most interested or knew onlythe latest gossip from the neighborhood. I had nothing against thetalks. Balsam said my sales had improved through my talkativeness.Although I was afraid to do the opposite.

Afterstowing my fruit and hiding my money, I headed back to the tavern. The way I could now go with my eyes closed, but i let it be. As soonas the tavern entered, I was greeted by the owner. At first he glaredat me and gave me clear signals that I was not welcome because he wasafraid I was going to make him angry or - even worse - spy on theRoyal Guard. But the aversion subsided as soon as he saw that I knewsome robbers, or they recognized me. As it turned out, there was aclose friendship between him and Cassim and so I was allowed to go inand out as I wanted. I sat down in my favorite spot, far back in theroom, so that I was barely visible, but I had everyone in the viewwho was going in and out.

I was notsitting very long before someone took the place opposite me. My heartmade a short jump, it was Shun. The first time he came alone, otherwise Hakim, Genghis or other robbers were there. The question"Is there something new?" I did not ask, they will tell meimmediately, if they get information. "You should not alwayscome here!" He started the conversation harshly. I had lost myspeech, but he did not want an answer and added. "Your regularappearance could alert the guards and then they'll follow youeventually and then arrest us. Then it's only a matter of time beforewe all sit behind bars waiting for our execution." Now we'realready together and I got a sermon to hear, really great. Depressed,I looked down at my cup of wine, which Iris, one of the waitresses, had put down. "I'm sorry, I have not thought of that yet ..."Shun sighed and pushed something across the table to me. I recognizedit immediately, the medallion with the Midas marks on it. "What?..." "Cassim wants you to get it, say a little cheer andlater as a reminder of your adventure." "Say thank you toCassim." I put the medallion in my pocket. "I still havesomething for you ... "He rummaged in his pocket and brought outa glass flower, which he put into my hand." Oh, that isbeautiful! Finally a flower that didn't die in my hands." Hewent to mine Sentence (including bad joke) not because Iris broughthim his cup of wine and it seemed to me as if happy about thedistraction Iris disappeared to the next customer, "Thank you,Shun!" I looked at the flower dreamily. "I have to go."Hastily he emptied his cup and disappeared.

Istayed a while and drank my wine in peace. Then I went home too. Idid not want to put the flower in my bag because I was afraid ofcrushing it. Carefully, I carried her in my hand and hurried home. There I was looking for an even better hiding place, it had to beeven more terrific than my money hiding place. That's where the ideacame from. I filled a pitcher with water and let the flower slide inthere. As I thought, she was no longer visible. Only I knew she wasin it. I put the jug far in the back of my storage cupboard. Inparticularly sentimental moments, I will get her out, I decided.
