Chapter16

Uncertain and a little desperate, I stood in the darknessfor a few seconds. No, I can't give up now. Hastily I loosened thepoorly put on shackles and put them in my trouser pocket maybe i needthem somehow. What now? Carefully, I felt my way through the prisoncell. "Aladdin? Jasmin? "I whispered, entering theblackness and listening for an answer. "Who is there?" Iimmediately recognized Jasmin's voice. "My name is Monika, I'mhere to get you out. Cassim, Jago, abu and Genie are waiting outsidefor you. "

"Myfather?" Now Aladdin's voice sounded. She sounded a bit weak, but seemed hopeful through my words. "Genie is fine? And carpetand Abu have escaped! That's good news! "In the sound ofJasmine's voice I could hear her joy right away, even if they had theslightest sound of doubt. "I will free you. I'm coming to younow."

Imoved my hands through the blackness.

"Ouch,watch it !?"

Ihad caught Jasmin's hair. "Sorry," I said and now I'm goingfor the shackles. "Hey, where are you packing that?" "I'msorry, Jasmine. With light, it would all be much easier. "

"Alright, just hurry up. "I finally had the shackles in my hand. At that Itried to find the knot. But I did not have time to rejoice, whoeverattached these shackles did a good job. I simply could not get thisknot. "What's going on?" Asked Aladdin. "The knot istighter than expected," I grumbled slightly annoyed and on theverge of despair. Something occurred to me. I rummaged in my pantsand was quickly found. The pottery shard was still in my possession.Hastily I unwrapped them and cut off the shackles of Jasmine. ThenAladdin's shackles, I did not have to look far and released him.

Thethree of us groped our way to the bars. Before the part it dreaded methe most. What if I was really wrong in the robbers? I could notthink much about that, as Aladdin announced, "I found thehandle!" The sound of the slightly squeaky door felt like music.Genghis and Shun did not stab us in the back. I breathed. My mistrustfell away from me like a big shadow. "Pssst" Aladdin raisedhis index finger to his lips and slowly pushed the curtain aside. Isaw Shun, Genghis and Hakim sitting as guards in front of our prison.Hakim turned and saw us immediately. Aladdin already wanted to goback to the cell. "Alright, they help us too!" I tried toreassure him. He did not have time for rejoicing, Genghis approachedus. "That was about time. Quick Saluk has just disappeared intohis tent. We will not get a better opportunity anymore. "

Wehurried to the big gates of the robber's cave. As planned, the otherrobbers slept through a sleeoping pills that had given them thetriplets. To divert suspicion, the robbers separated and took a smalldose of the remedy. Thus, they were beyond all suspicion. So onlyAladdin, Jasmin and I ran to the exit. I looked back and saw therobbers empty their cups and lie down to sleep.

The entrancewas right in front of us. I just wanted to say the magic words whenthe gates opened without even a sound from us. I stood in horror, whohad said the words. With thunder, the gates opened, but somethingseemed different. The water came rushing in, otherwise it alwaysparted, leaving a passage open that could be passed without worries. But that was not the case.

Waterpenetrated more and more. Jasmine and Aladdin had not noticed mystanding still and continued to run towards the exit, now when thewater came towards them, they stopped and embraced eachother.

Through the gate, I now saw the cause, the water camein with. Ursula! To call her angry was still an understatement, sheliterally cooked and apparently swelled to a considerable size. (Butnot as big as in the movie.) With a crazy look she pointed her fingerat me "YOU!" She shrieked and a tentacle shot at me. Unableof fear, I did not manage to run away. She grabbed me "NOW WEMAKE IT, WITHOUT THE OTHER LOSERS," she continued, pulling meback through the gate.
With a mad speed she rushed through thesea. Half-hearted and somewhat reluctant, she seemed to me the breathmagic, while she growled something like "Need you alive"and hurried on with me. She stopped at something. "You shouldnot write offall at once, my Love." The voice sounded familiar, but how could that be? I took a closer look at the figure. That wasnot Saluk. No, that was the Evil Manta, one of Arielle's enemies.

"Salukget out of my way. Otherwise you'll be turned in Gold again as youcan see!" Ursula yelled at him. "Now do not blame me forthe failure of your accomplices." His sentence brought with itsome irony. "Pah and I should continue to rely on you? Thenguess where I found the girl and with whom. "She gave him no airto answer" Just in front of the exit in company with Aladdin andhis dearest princess, as you have assured me in captivity! "

Iwatched everything with my mouth open. The invading water did notbother me at all. Saluk was the Evil Manta! I have never been awareof the similarity before. I did not listen to the two in theirargument too. I was very surprised by this realization. A push wentthrough the tentacle with which Ursula held me and held me in frontof Saluk. "I'll make the potion, take care of the brat that shewill not get away from us again." Damn i should have listen tothem instead of to stare at the Evil Manta, or rather at Saluk. RoughSaluk held me by the wrists. Who could help me now?
