Squinting his eyes and covering his handsome face from the glaring light from the sun, Seokjin asked aloud, "what is he doing?"
As Yoongi locked eyes with Hoseok, a flame began to grow bigger and bigger within Yoongi's heart and butterflies flapped their wings dry and flew around in his stomach.
Yoongi was at a lost for words. No matter how hard he tried to talk, nothing came out of his mouth. The words were there, but as soon as they reached his mouth, they disappeared into thin air. It was like Hoseok had casted a spell on him.
"Argh! I told you not to send anymore people up here! That's it I'm jumping!" Hoseok declared.
His words snapped Yoongi out of his trance, acting in his feet, he yelled, "wait, Wait! Stop! Please...Hoseok!"
He spun around, his eyes puffy with from tears and filled with pain. "How do you know my name?"
Good I've got his attention.
"I know a lot about you, I know you have a brother, is that right?" He asked, taking a step forward.
"Jimin..." He muttered under his breath.
"And I know, that you've been in some trouble recently right?" He questioned.
"It wasn't my fault! I didn't lay a finger on her!" He defended.
"You borrowed money from the gang, The Gods. And you did it to help Jimin, to further his dance and studies." He stated, taking a few more steps forwards.
Light bounced off the tears welling up in Hoseok's eyes. "All I wanted was him to be happy, but look where I got us, gang members knocking on our door, threatening and beating us up. I should have ended it all a long time ago."
"And killing yourself is the answer?" Yoongi shouted.
Yoongi could see the realisation written all over his face, seizing the opportunity to lunge forward.
Just a little more.
"What would Jimin do after he finds out his own brother abandoned him?"
"The gang would hunt him down and kill him."
"Labeled as a murderer's brother, people would be afraid of him."
"In a few years, I would be standing right here with Jimin in your place."
"But the worst thing is...he would hate you, you're not saving his life, you're taking it from him."
The visions of Jimin being ripped from limb from limb, mocked at by his peers and his lifeless body at the bottom of this very building flashed like that of a camera.
He held his head in his hands, silently pleading the haunting visions to go away.
And they did.
Yoongi reached out to touch his shoulder, saying, " but you can change all of that."
Willingly, he handed his gun over and collapsed into Yoongi's arms in a deep embrace. Tears overflowing from his eyes and staining Yoongi's uniform.
Stunned by his sudden action, Yoongi couldn't help but feel compelled to accept it and actually liked it.
For a moment the whole world came to a stop, the wailing sirens of police cars, ambulances and helicopters hovering above was drowned out and blended into the silence, Hoseok's warmth making Yoongi feel like a blooming flower tasting the warmth of the Sun for the first time.
Hoseok made him feel complete.
Suddenly, a loud boom of a gunshot shattered the silence, reverberating throughout the entire city block. People screamed and scattered like a bunch of ants, dispersing and taking refuge in other buildings nearby.
The ringing sound in Yoongi's ears clouded his mind. Making him feel disorientated and lost. He clung onto Hoseok, letting his warmth comfort him but it was gone.
Instead, a warm liquid stain his shirt, which wasn't Hoseok's tears, they were just above his abdomen. The warmth from his embrace faded, replaced with a cold empty feeling. Hoseok's grip loosened and slowly slipped off Yoongi's back. Struggling to hold his body up, like a brick, the realisation hit him. But he didn't want to believe it.
No, no please.
Gathering his courage, he pulled back from the embrace, and sure enough, blood was everywhere. On his shirt, through Hoseok's heart and trickling down his mouth. His head was tilted backwards and his body limp, no longer breathing nor moving.
What was left was just the shell of his former lover.
All the emotions Yoongi had bottled up all these years saving and hoping he would one day give to someone was wasted and transformed to negative emotions.
Yoongi's eyes widened in fear which slowly turned to sadness.
"No, no , NO HOSEOK COME BACK! DON'T LEAVE ME!" He cried in anguish, gripping his shirt.
He wanted to explode with anger, scream in fear and mourn in sadness over Hoseok.
Seokjin bolted out of the elevator to find his partner in a state he would never thought to see.
Slowly he approached Yoongi and grabbed his shoulder which was shoved aside by him, yelling, "don't touch me!"
"I'm sorry, you couldn't catch him-" he comforted, interrupted by Yoongi's booming voice, "I don't care about the damn case Jin!"
He looked away then at Hoseok's lifeless body. He sighed. " I just really care about him."
"I don't know why, but he looked so lost, in pain and innocent. A man wrongly accused and pushed to the edge." He explained.
"He had no choice. He was going to change, I sensed it." He continued.
"He was innocent."
