Sunday came and I woke up to the smell of bacon and syrup. I tumbled into the kitchen to see all the guys up and working together to make breakfast. “The hell? How are you up before me? And where did you get eggs.”
“Well sleepy head, while you were asleep we went and got eggs, because we were hungry. So shut up and drink you coffee. You’re like the Grinch who stole Christmas before your coffee.” All of the boys burst out laughing after Max said that.
Ben joined in with a joke of his own, “OH my fuck, that reminds me of the snickers commercial where they’re like you’re not you when you’re hungry! You would be perfect for that roll BB” he looked at me laughing even harder at my grimace. I would have punched the laugh off his face, but he was too far away and I was too lazy to move any farther then this bar stool that looked so nice and comfy.
Erick handed me a cup of coffee almost like I was going to bite his hand off if her got closer. Rolling my eyes I took it and sat down in the chair as he jumped away out of my reach….Dick. I leaned forward hunching over the bar table to where I could sip the coffee and just relax. I sipped the coffee watching the boys in amusement. They worked like a team, and I was in awe on how in time they were to each other.
I heard my door bell ring, and I looked towards the hallway with a sigh. I groaned as I slid out of the chair. After all I was still bruised you know. Padding down the hallway I realized that the living room was still trashed and I looked at the kitchen, and back to the door. I think though that it will be dark enough in here with the curtains closed to keep the problem at bay.
I opened the door to see Landon, and realized another problem right in front of my face. I looked back at hallway extremely fast to make sure none of the guys were anywhere around. I slid into the mini hallway, the ones that led to the emergency stairs or pretty much the only way you can get up without my key. I shut the door as quietly as possible and turned around to look at him. The look on his face stopped anything I was about to say in my tracks.
The look on his face could only be best described as murderous. There was also a hint of pain in his eyes as well. He reached his hand out like he was going to touch my face. Sadly, when his hand was only an inch away from caressing the bruise on my check he dropped his hand in and clenched it on the drop down. He turned his face away, clenching his jaw, like he was trying to calm down.
“Who?” he breathed out with so much anger. At first I felt bad, but my face grew emotionless. Hurt and anger of my own rising threw my body like something sick had hit me like a shock wave. It was though, like electricity the realization that the man I love was still a guard dog that I had led myself to believe had feelings for me.
“I thought you would already know, Guard dog” I spit out with venom. I watched his face turn to a variety of emotions. It went from anger to confusion before morphing into realization as he stared into my hate filled eyes.
“No” he whispered so low I almost didn’t hear him.
“A guard dog through and through I see. You know what I thought you cared about me! I though you wanted me, I thought maybe you were starting to feel the same thing I was for you. It was all a lie though isn’t it though. You’re just a guard dog, a snitch, a fucking back stabber and someone who played with my heart.” I all about scream the last word as the anguish and hurt rose up twice as bad as the physical pain from that of what my father had inflicted upon me. “You fucked with me, made me love you. What so you could be as close as you wanted and not have issues being my dad little song bird? Fuck you Landon. You are just like him, sadistic, cruel, and someone I could never love. Now, if you will excuse me I need to go inside where people I can trust are located.”
I turned to open the door when a fist slammed against it right beside my face and I stopped in my tracks. “Do not doubt my love for you Blair. I have never loved someone like I have loved you. I never knew he was like this. When he asked me to watch out for you I did as a favor to him, I was unknowing of the rest. I’ll kill him. You are my life, my soul, everything that I need, I can’t be without you.” By this time he was breathing heavily with the emotion that seemed to be choking him with the intensity of the words he had just spoken. With that I unraveled like a rag doll. I started shaking and sob began to rack my body. As everything that had happened started washing away from me. His words did more than water ever could. Washing away the doubt and pain that had surrounded me and clouded me in darkness.
His words were the real safety blanket that I needed to truly feel ok. How he had become so much apart me in such a short amount of time I don’t know. But somehow I could believe every word he spoke. He wrapped his arms around my chest and shoulders bringing my back against his chest. As he buried his face in my neck with a sigh of content.
We stayed like that without another word spoken, before I turned around and tucked my body into his with a smile. Despite my physical wounds, mentally he had healed me to anew.
I unraveled from him finally and looked up to this gorgeous man that could turn my doubts out with no qualms. He looked at me with worry still on his face, cupping my face he turned it back and forth to look at the damage on my face. He looked down noticing all the cuts. And the bruises on my wrist and arms.
“How far does this go?” he murmered gesturing at the bruises. “ MMM, if I told you everywhere, the pain in your eyes would deepen and I don’t want that. I’m so sorry for what I said I didn’t m-“ he cut my ramble off with a kiss. It was as gentle as a breeze, he deepened it for the barest of seconds before, pulling away again.
“Silly girl, it’s ok, I should have been here. I deserve those words after all he out you through it’s understandable.
His pain melted away to a smile that made my heart skip and butterflies erupt in a riot throughout my stomach. A smile of my own spread across my face.
The door open suddenly and jumped apart as fast as possible. Maxs face popped out from behind he door followed by Bens. When they noticed it was landon they opened the door widely.
