Nobody ever thought it would be possible, yet it happened. Yesterday evening, scientists came out with legendary technology to send things to the past. Ever since that report, my friends and I had become all jittery, wondering if we would ever receive something. Alexa was fortunate to received something before the tech even came out. The rest of us were left to wonder.
Today was my lucky day, apparently. It was my last day of high school. I meandered through the streets of the town, enjoying my last quest home. Birds sang, congratulating my graduation, and flowers bloomed when I walked by. Stepping around a corner, leading to my road, I could see my house grow larger with each step I took. Once I was in view of my front porch, the large chest sat waiting for me. It was almost watching. I jogged up the stairs and stood in front of the chest. It can't be too heavy, I thought. I grabbed the rusted handle on both sides and tried to lift it. It was much heavier than I thought. There I stood, forming a plan of how I was going to get this into my house.
Eventually I crafted a ramp out of old wooden planks and rolled it up the ramp on a dolly. After setting it in the middle of my room, I sat on my bed, watching it. The tag hanging from one of the handles was crooked and crinkled. There were two lone words under the mailing information: Open Me. I grabbed the key provided and unlocked the chest. I held my breath while lifting the lid. The large breath escaped my lungs as I saw what was inside. It was filled with stacks of papers. Upon closer inspection, they were revealed to be legal documents. They had information on all of the upcoming terrorist attacks, inside jobs of the government officials, and the worst crimes of the future. Then there was a letter from future me. All it said was "good luck." I didn't understand what that meant, but oh would I.
A few days later, the first president listed in those papers came into power.
