The man looked out at the once beautiful sky, now crimson with gas poisonous to humans. He watched as dead planets darken. The tabby cat beside him purred at the beauty of the sun that was once so near, but now nothing other than a small light. He didn't know how a villainous creature could appreciate beauty, but he certainly did. With every passing day the sun still shone, and he felt a little hope that his people may be saved.

He felt the caged world sway as the space giant picked it up. People screamed as they lost balance and fell in the rubbled streets. He said nothing, leaning onto his cane for balance, and continued to stare out the barred windows. The cat stood up and started to meander away, tail twitching slightly. Suddenly, it vanished. The gas leak must have affected more than he thought. He looks down to his own scarred hand, memories of that defeat flooding his mind. The red gas seeping through the broken glass, the hideous glint in the giant's eyes, and the sounds of friends with robotic masks choking to death.

Sounds of people crying in the streets below him brought him back. He turned around to go down in efforts of consoling his fellow inmates.
