I carefully packed all of my belongings, making sure to bring everything I needed for my first day at Mackenzie's school. We were all excited to drive separately instead of cramming into one car. After checking my reflection in the mirror, I decided on a cute off-the-shoulder top with delicate lace detailing, paired with ripped jeans and brown sandals. As a finishing touch, I painted my toenails a lovely peach-coral color, adding a pop of brightness to my outfit. For my hair, I twisted it into a charming side ponytail with a braid running along the side. The delicate strands fell gracefully around my face, framing it like a work of art. For makeup, I opted for a sweet peachy-red eyeshadow that brought out the warmth in my hazel eyes, and coated my lashes with mascara for added definition. A swipe of dark red lipstick completed the look, adding a touch of boldness to the overall sweetness. My glasses were a simple tan color, but they added just the right touch of sophistication to my ensemble.

I couldn't help but admire myself in the mirror, feeling confident and cute all at once.

"Oh, sis. Looking cute," I thought with a smile.

My nose piercing, a small hoop that sat delicately on one side, was always a part of my look. It added an edge that I loved.

After grabbing my backpack, I made my way downstairs.

And there she was, waiting by the door.

My best friend Promise was already eager to start our day together.

She was dressed in a flowy, white long sleeve shirt with bold black text that read "Vintage Girls" across the front. Her feet were adorned with strappy black and grey sandals, and her toenails were painted a vibrant shade of purple. Her flawless makeup enhanced her natural features, and her long hair was pulled up into a loose and tousled bun.

I made my way out the door and towards my car, the early morning sun casting a warm glow on the neighborhood. With a turn of the key, the engine roared to life and I backed out of the driveway.

The school was only a short drive away, and I parked my car in its designated spot among rows of other vehicles. As I walked towards the building, I couldn't help but notice that most of the prime parking spots were already taken by upperclassmen - a reminder that my time at this school was quickly coming to an end.

With a quick twist of the ignition key, I silenced the rumbling engine of my car. The weight of my backpack felt comforting on my shoulders as I slung it over one arm and grabbed the keys from the ignition. Leaping out of the driver's seat, I slammed the car door shut behind me. As I stood next to my vehicle, I paused to take in the sight before me.

The school loomed large in front of me, its sprawling campus stretching out in every direction. Its tan walls were punctuated by stark white windows and accents of vibrant red-orange that seemed to glow in the morning sun. In big block letters, the title "Oasis Outback High School" was emblazoned on the building's facade.

I couldn't help but feel a twinge of nervousness as I approached the entrance. This was where I would spend the next four years of my life, and it was all starting now.

As I made my way towards the main doors, I noticed Promise, Emily, Cameron, and Jasper parked in the same lot as me. A sense of relief washed over me as I realized I wouldn't be navigating this new territory alone. Together, we walked towards our new school, ready to take on whatever challenges lay ahead.

As they turned off the car engine and grabbed their backpacks, my friends waved at me from across the parking lot. I waved back with a smile, taking in their striking appearances. Emily's icy blue hair was pulled up into a messy bun, showing off her intricate tattoos and nose piercing. She wore a black and white striped t-shirt tucked into light blue ripped jeans, paired with cute brown sandals. Her green bomber jacket added a pop of color to her outfit, along with several rings adorning her fingers.
