The Jay Problem

Out of all the things that confused Kiara the most,  Jay Singhania was probably number one.  Yes, Jay Singhania,  the most popular guy when we were in school who made all the girls swoon over him.  He was a tall guy with pale complexion and black hair. I must say that I was shocked when Kiara first told me that she might or might not like Jay, just a teeny tiny bit though.  Then she said that she wanted to get the 'bloody git ' out of her head ( yes,  that's exactly what she called him). But the very next day she had called him 'kinda cute '. She never admitted how smitten she was, but let me let you subtlety isn't her strongest suit. Once, me and Siya decided that we would go and try to tell Jay indirectly about her feelings but she burst out on us like Mt. Vesuvius and we had to back off. 

The years rolled by and Jay drifted apart and to be truthful we didn't even know where he was or what he was doing until yesterday. 

It was our first exam for the year (we have three sets of exams each semester and each set has three papers) and it was our last paper yesterday. On the first day of our exams, we had wished each other luck and settled down in the examination hall.  The exam went pretty well.  After we came out Kiara started acting really weird. She came out hurriedly and headed straight to our flat ,where the three of us lived together ( we shared the rent) and locked herself up telling us that she really needed to study for the next day. However,  the next day she was weirder!!  She came out with a black mask covering her nose and mouth. "What happened to you Kia??? "Siya had asked her. "I had dust allergy and it got really bad. My nose is itching like crazy!!! " Kiara had replied. Both of us knew that Kiara had dust allergy but how come she had such repercussion overnight???   Anyway we had hurried to our exams . But we were sure that she was hiding something and we had to find out what. Yesterday finally we caught hold of her asked her what was wrong. "Nothing's wrong,  seriously!!  Why do you think something is wrong??? " Kiara had asked. " Why do we think so? OK..... um...... let me see.... maybe you are being super weird? "I had replied. " I'm not being weird.  I just have the allergies!!!   I have to put on a mask. " Kiara retorted. " Leave it Van she doesn't want to share.  I'm sure she'll be good enough without us.  We don't need to be friends anymore.  She doesn't need us.  We won't bother you anymore,  Kia.  " Siya huffed and then she started to drag me along with her towards the cafeteria. "Stop!! Stop!  Uff !! Siya you do know how to get under my skin. Fine, I'll tell you. But YOU GUYS WON'T DO ANYTHING STUPID, UNDERSTOOD?? "Kiara said firmly.  We nodded and Kiara sighed. "Um.... he's here, I mean Jay's here " she said quietly and we were shocked.
