The Last Sight

We had a few more days to pack up. We were after all,  going home in a week. It was really weird,  you know,  going back home.  I was so accustomed to having Kiara and Siya around that the thought of them not being there all the time made me uncomfortable. Kiara had been behaving way too normally since the day Jay told us about Anika. I knew she was bottling things up.  She had bags under her eyes and refused to come out of her room, let alone the flat. We tried getting into her room but she didn't let us do even that.  We finally got our opportunity of finding out why she was doing this,  just the day before we were gonna move out.

When Siya and I had come out of our room that morning, Kiara wasn't home. We figured that she probably had to do some last minute shopping. It was perfect. We slowly crept into her room and closed the door behind us.  Everything was packed up. There were only sheets on the bed and a few story books and notebooks on her study table. Her personal diary was there too. Siya looked at me once and I understood at once what she wanted to do. On one hand reading her personal diary was there only way to know what was on with her,  and on the other hand if Kiara walked in on us, we  were dead,  she was never going to trust us again and it was very much possible that we would lose her forever.  Kiara never trusted easily. Breaking her trust would be equal to murdering her. But we were doing this for her good,  right?  I slowly nodded at Siya. We went forward and Siya opened the diary. But..... there was nothing to read at all. All the pages were torn , probably by scratching with something sharp.  Nothing,  not a word could be read.  "This is bad Vanshika,  this is very bad. ", Siya said to me, looking very worried.  "We have to talk to her,  today. She's shutting herself up again! ", I replied. "What the f**k are you doing here? "- damn it!!!!  It was Kiara . The worse had happened.  She was going to kill us and then abandon us.  This was a very bad idea.  " Kia.... we were.. um "-"I don't care what you were doing!  Get out!  Get out right now!!!!  And don't show me your God forsaken faces again  if you want to be alive.  Out!! " ,Kiara yelled. "Listen Kiara we've had enough of your nonsense!  We were trying to help you out here,  we're your best friends!  But I won't put up with your temper tantrums!!! " Siya yelled back. " Siya! " I complained. " No!  I'm done! ",Siya retorted. " Get out. " ,Kiara said,  her voice dangerously quiet. I pulled Siya out of Kiara's room and turned around to tell Kiara that she could talk to us later  but Kiara had already slammed her door shut.  There were unmistakable sounds of sobs  coming from her room.  Siya looked at the floor guiltily and I sighed anxiously.

The next morning Kiara was gone.
