Acceptance

" Kia! " , Siya yelled as she practically lunged on Kiara  hugging her tight enough to choke her.  Kiara hugged back,  but her baffled expression showed that she still couldn't believe we were there infront of her. " Wha-How?-  I - How did you guys find me? ", she asked in amazed astonishment.After Kiara finally let her go,  I went forward and hugged her.  I just realized how much I was missing this.  " We had to find you Kia.  We are best friends and best friends always find each other,  no matter what. ",I replied teary eyed.  Her watery delighted expression showed that she feeling the same as me and Siya. " Honestly!   Where in the hell did you run off to? " ,I asked,  freeing her from the death-grip  of my arms . Kiara smiled. " It was silly,  wasn't it? ", Kiara asked scratching the back of her neck. " 's alright." , Siya said - " What we did was bad Kia  . Everyone needs their space.  We shouldn't have done that.  We crossed our lines.  We're sorry " , she added . Kiara waved her hand non chalantly to dismiss it. " Oh my God!  I didn't even realize how much I missed you guys till before now. It was really childish of me to run away and hide like that. " ,Kiara said shaking her head. 

We talked for hours.  Kiara demanded to be offered Siya's  wedding treat real soon and ordered her to bring Arushi there sometime . She practically invited herself to my wedding and then we talked about my fiance and how Kiara had to give him the best friend talk that included a not so vague death threat in case he hurts me. Siya loved the idea.  We talked about Kiara's job and you know,  how everything was going on,  like in general,  like in love life - not that we're keen or something. Kiara just laughed and sang " Single bells,  single bells,  single all the way! " and we laughed.  We also  laughed about a lot of other there things.  Just like the old days.  It was good to have Kiara back. 

" So tell me how you found me.  " ,Kiara asked. Siya just looked at me and then brought out the book. " Oh! " ,Kiara said. " You wrote this... " Siya said,  Kiara nodded, " with a pseudo name... ", Kiara nodded again " Jay Singhania! " , Kiara nodded. " Why? " , Siya asked when Kiara didn't say anything. Kiara just shrugged. " Kiara, Jay is marri-" ,I  was cut short by Kiara's " I know! ". She motioned towards the picture on the wall.  " Kiara don't tell me you're still stuck on him.  He didn't even mention you to us,  not even once!  He doesn't deserve your feelings! ", Siya said a tad bit annoyed. " I told him not to mention me to you guys . I know you would want to meet me immediately,  but I  wasn't home,  I went for a vacation,  to  Europe,  I came back last month.",Kiara said. " You could meet him and not us! ",I retorted.  " I didn't want to meet him okay?! It's...  Anika had some work in the bank I work in,   we  met all of a sudden and she recognized me,  God knows how,  and invited me.  I couldn't say no.  I had to see him... for the last time. I had my book launch on their wedding day,  so I couldn't go on that day.  I told Anika that I had personal work.  She asked me to go later,  so I went after a week. ", Kiara said. " When I'm  around you,  I feel like I'm in a movie,  seriously.  Your life is so dramatic Kia! ",Siya said exasperated. Kiara snorted and I laughed.  " Seriously though, Kia, if Jay ever reads this book,  have you thought what will happen then? ",I asked,  the last thing that Kiara would want to happen at this point was Jay knowing about her feelings. " Come on Van! Seriously ? Jay would never so much as touch a book u less and until it had something to do with a college degree.  ", she said laughing.  The her face fell a bit.  She sighed and the smiled. I squeezed her hand reassuringly. " Why do you still love him Kia? ", Siya asked,  suddenly serious. Kiara looked thoughtful for a moment and then she smiled again.  What's with the smiles,  huh?   Before I could ask her anything else her phone beeped once.  Kiara looked up her phone and the she facepalmed. " Shit!  Guys,  I had to give my boss some files.  I have to go now  it's urgent.  I'm sorry can we catch up some other time? ", she asked.

We hugged and said 'goodbye's and 'see you's  . Then Kiara got into  her car. The question suddenly came to my mind. Just as Kiara was about to start her car , I asked " Wait!  Whose story is this? Who's this girl, April in this story?  " .  I think I already knew the answer,  but still. " Mine.", Kiara replied. Then she winked at neither one of us in particular and drove away.  Siya and I  stood there  as we watched Jay...  er... sorry - Kiara went away.
