After reading the script for "One In A Minyan", Joshua is left speechless by Asher's reaction.

In this oneshot, they've already read the scripts up to and including "The Quacks".

Asher and Joshua had agreed to run through scripts together. It was becoming increasingly exciting for them as the show explored many more cultures and situations.

Joshua arrived at Asher's house early in the morning, as they had been sent scripts in the mail and wanted to ensure they understood everything.

Asher: So, what do you think will happen in the second half of the season?

Joshua: I'm not sure, but after ten episodes, I'm quite pleased with what I've read.

Asher: I think it's going to get more serious.

Joshua: What makes you say that?

Asher: The characters are growing up, and so are all of us.

Joshua: True, okay then, let's begin.

As they read through the script, it was Asher who realised that Jonah and Cyrus were going to play big parts in the next episode.

Asher: So Jonah's going to freak out again.

Joshua: Looks like it, and Cyrus is going to calm him down.

Asher: At least we get to show off our acting skills.

Joshua: I'm already excited about filming this.

Reading through the next couple of scenes, Joshua smiled as he saw that Jonah and Cyrus would share a heart to heart.

Joshua: I knew they cared about each other deeply.

Asher: It's a shame that it took until this episode for Jonah to admit that he needs Cyrus.

Joshua: You know what they say? Better late than never!

Asher: They have the best friendship, wouldn't you agree?

Joshua: I do, there is definitely a loyalty factor between them.

Asher: I'm a bit annoyed that they still haven't addressed the elephant in the room!

Joshua looked at Asher with confusion. He wasn't too sure what Asher was referring to, but he was interested in finding out.

Joshua: What would that be?

Asher: When is Jonah going to find out about Cyrus?

Joshua: I dunno, but I hope he does soon. They've suggested it in an earlier scene.

Asher remembered reading that scene, and that was what had prompted his outburst. He wanted to know how it would happen. Turning the page, Asher went wide eyed, with Joshua wondering why.

Joshua: You look surprised.

Asher: Read this page.

As Joshua read, he finally understood why Asher was surprised. Cyrus was going to come out to Jonah, and use the word "gay".

Joshua: So they aren't going to make a big deal out of it?

Asher: Apparently not, oh well. At least it's going to happen.

Joshua: It's about time.

Asher: It seems a little too short though, why can't they sit down and talk?

Joshua: I'm not sure.

Asher: Wouldn't you want to know if Jonah felt the same? I know I want to.

Joshua: If it's meant to happen, it'll happen.

Asher: This would be an excellent opportunity to make Jyrus a mutual thing.

Joshua: But Cyrus is over Jonah.

Asher: Do you really believe that?

Joshua: Seeing as TJ exists...

Asher: Ugh... I hate that. Why can't Jonah be part of it? Lots of people wanted Jyrus long before he started to show anything.

Joshua: Hang on, you are really jealous aren't you?

Asher: Fine I'm jealous!

It felt like the beginning of an argument between the two, with Asher becoming really angry, and Joshua feeling slightly uncomfortable.

Joshua: I didn't know this mattered that much to you.

Asher: I wanted to be part of the first gay kiss on Disney Channel.

Joshua: Why?

Asher: Because it would...

Asher paused, feeling more awkward about saying what he wanted. Joshua looked at him sympathetically.

Joshua: Say it.

Asher: It would be with you!

Joshua felt his breath being taken away in an instant. He felt different, his heart was pounding and his cheeks were burning. There was a long silence before Asher broke it. Joshua was not able to speak much.

Asher: I can't believe I finally told you that. I've wanted to tell you how I felt for ages. You drive me crazy sometimes and I just---.

Joshua: Just shut up and kiss me already!

Asher: What?

Joshua: P-please?

Asher, feeling more confident than ever, brought their faces together and their lips finally connected. It wasn't the longest kiss, but it did mean everything to both of them. When they parted, Asher smiled.

Asher: Okay, I no longer care about Jyrus.

Joshua: What do you mean?

Asher: I've got you, so I don't need a fake relationship, now I've got a real one.

Joshua: So, are you asking me out?

Asher: I thought we were going out.

Joshua: Oh... Well we are, so that's great!

There was a different dynamic to their relationship, but they knew that anything was possible and they wouldn't give up on each other.

I had this idea a while ago, but only just got around to writing it.

Thank you for reading.
