Coming Out - Extended (Jyrus)

An extended version Cyrus' admission to Jonah in 3x11. The boys have a deeper conversation about feelings and friendship (maybe more).

"...and I'm gay"

"Yeah? Okay cool"

"Okay, cool"

Cyrus was so glad that he told Jonah the truth, as now he had another person to talk to who he knew would offer unconditional support.

Jonah looked at Cyrus with a beaming smile, realising how tough it must have been for his friend to hold that secret from him for so long.

It was a wonderful moment, but once they had spoken to Andi and Buffy, Jonah wanted to find out a bit more.

Jonah: So, is there somewhere we can talk privately?

Cyrus: Sure, we'll go to my bedroom.

Jonah followed Cyrus to his bedroom and it was fair to say it was noticeable just how much confidence Cyrus had gained. They sat down on the bed and the conversation started almost immediately.

Jonah: So tell me, how long have you known?

Cyrus: Always, I didn't understand it until about three years ago though.

Jonah: Who else knows?

Cyrus: Only Andi and Buffy. They've been amazing.

Jonah: So I'm the first guy you've come out to?

Cyrus: Yes, and I always knew that would be the case.

Jonah: I'm genuinely touched that you would share it with me.

Cyrus was enjoying this conversation, it was much more in depth than any of the ones he had with Andi or Buffy. He also wanted to know some stuff about Jonah too.

Cyrus: Did you ever suspect it?

Jonah: I never suspect anyone of anything. I like to keep an open mind.

Cyrus: Have you ever picked up on any hints?

Jonah: No, why? Have you been dropping lots of them?

Cyrus: Well Jojo, surely you notice how happy I am around certain boys.

Jonah: I know you're very happy around TJ.

Cyrus: You... wait really?

Jonah: Subtlety isn't exactly easy for you Cy-guy.

Cyrus: I don't know what you mean.

Jonah: You always seem happier with him, and I'll admit that makes me jealous.

This was making no sense to Cyrus, he had never realised that Jonah could get jealous of anyone, especially him.

Cyrus: Why would that make you jealous?

Jonah: It's clear that your affection for him goes much further than your affection for me.

Cyrus: That's... not exactly true.

Jonah: It isn't?

Cyrus didn't know whether this was such a good idea, but he knew that he wouldn't be able to keep anything else from Jonah.

Cyrus: Jonah, I've always liked you. Even more than I like TJ.

Jonah: No way... but you can do better than me Cyrus. TJ would be the better choice.

Cyrus: I thought I was the one with low self esteem.

Jonah: Not at all. All of us go through moments of self doubt.

Cyrus: How do you feel about me liking you?

Jonah: I am so flattered that---.

Cyrus: If you don't like me just say it, I don't want this to be a long talk about how you don't feel the same way.

Jonah: Can I finish dude?

Cyrus: Fine.

Jonah could see how Cyrus looked at him, he could tell that his friend was opening his heart out for real. He figured this was his moment to be honest too.

Jonah: I never told you this, but I like you too.

Cyrus: Is this a joke?

Jonah: No! I find you to be the most adorable person, I could just kiss you right now.

Cyrus: What's stopping you?

Jonah: Are you sure you don't like TJ more?

Cyrus: I only thought of him like that because I thought I'd never get to be with you, and he would be my second choice.

Jonah: Oh, well when you put it like that...

Jonah pushed all of his self doubt away and kissed Cyrus. It was like nothing he'd ever experienced before, and he loved it. Telling by the blush on Cyrus' face, he knew they both felt the same way.

Cyrus: Wow, I guess we do have more in common than I thought.

Jonah: So what do you say, shall we give Jyrus a chance?

Cyrus: I'd like that, I love you Jonah.

Jonah: Aww Cyrus, I love you as well.

They returned to where the girls were holding hands, and were met by looks of shock. It was their moment of truth.

Andi: Hey, does this mean what I think it means?

Buffy: You two are going out?

Cyrus: Yes we are!

Jonah: Damn right we are.

Andi: So you're both gay then?

Cyrus: That's right.

Jonah: Now let's go have some fun.

Buffy: Sounds great!

The four friends went outside and had a laugh, with their relationships with each other becoming stronger than ever.
