Both you and him figured that this would be a good way to spend your weekend as the weather warmed up outside. Exploring, pitching a tent and camping out. Though camping was never a keen interest of yours, it was an excuse to spend time with Calum and you jumped to the occasion. He needed this break, and you were more than willing to follow him.

The campgrounds were large and expansive, spanning over acres and acres of land. Far from the city, polluted air replaced with the fresh, relaxing air of the forest.

All was tranquil, cuddling up to Calum at night in the tent which you two spent far too long trying to pitch.

"Where does this stake go?"
"Ugh, it's not staying up."
"How do I even do this?"
"This is impossible." Calum was nearly whining but somehow it was so endearing to you. Even when annoyed at a tent he was adorable.

Calum was both frustrated and slightly amused at the same time. You were helping him pitch the tent but he was having a hard time understanding how to do it. Through perseverance and persistence the both of you were able to put it up and were able to put your things inside before night broke.

Complaining will get us nowhere, Cal." You responded, trying to slip the tent poles through their designated holes to stabilize the frame. You smiled to yourself as they went through, forming the frame. Calum helped you raise the tent and it was smooth sailing from there. Soon enough, the tent was fully pitched and ready for the both of you to go inside as night fell.

The tent was cozier than you two could have imagined. The quiet sounds of owls hooting and crickets chirping were so peaceful and it was so relaxing for the both of you to just be tucked away from the world's view. For the most part Calum's life is fast paced and he seldom gets time to just take a breather and calm down. You were so grateful for the fact that he was able to take this break and get himself in a new environment where every movement he made wasn't put underneath a microscope.

You were cuddled into his chest, the only sounds registering in your mind were his slow breaths and his heartbeat. It felt like a dream and you never wanted to wake up from it. His presence made the struggle with the tent worth it. Just being there with him was something that brought on such an indescribable feeling. The only thing you could say to even partially sum it up was that it was a mixture of peace and love. And little did you know that Cal was being consumed by that feeling, too.
