You were so thankful that Michael had offered to help you babysit your nephew. A wild little thing, you knew it would make it much easier to keep up with him with another set of eyes on him. Playing with the young boy until he was picked up by his parents, Michael felt a yearning inside of him.

He had felt it before, but not as strongly as he did in that moment. He saw you as the perfect parent, so caring and doting. He saw the perfect spouse, the one person he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. The person he would grow old with.

He hadn't directly brought it up, but it was apparent that something was on his mind. You hadn't known that the idea and vision of him having his own children was whirring through his mind at a thousand miles an hour. Out of sheer curiosity and concern, you questioned him, asking what was going through his head.

"I can't wait to be a dad one day. I can't wait to start a family with you." His voice flowed carefully like water downstream. In his voice was love, and in his heart was desire. For so long he had been longing to settle down and live a normal life with you. And you wanted it, too. More than wanted it, you knew that it was the one thing in life that you needed. To have that stability, that healthy environment.

"You would make a great dad, Mike. The best a child could ever want." The words that came from your mouth you wholeheartedly believed. Michael would make an amazing father when the time came, when you two would settle down.

"Do you really think so?" Michael asked, his sea-foam colored orbs glittering and shimmering with happiness. His voice was so soft and sweet. This was something he had always wanted, dreamed of.

"Absolutely, babe. Our future kids are gonna be so lucky having a dad like you."

Your words echoed in his mind, excitement and pure joy triggered in his brain.
                   'Our future kids'

He wondered if you had ever imagined the two of you raising a family together, or if you had imagined it as half as much as he did.

Little did he know that you truly did think about it, and nearly to the same extent he did. A family with Michael in a small, quaint area was something that seemed like a luxury. Something that felt out of reach, so far away and long off into the future. You were still young, had both of your lives to live before starting a family.

But Michael dreamed of this. He would drop everything and give it all up in order to have a quiet, tame life with you. He knew his feelings for you were true, that he loved you endlessly. Unconditionally. He couldn't wait for the day that he had a family all for his own, you as his spouse helping him raise a family.
