Cal breathed a breath of fresh air. He never really liked space travel and preferred to stay on the ground. The man who he had a tussle with was being dragged off the starship by a medic.
Cal looked at the weapon he now held in his hand. A Jedi's weapon, a lightsaber. A flood of memories came over Cal. Order 66, the destruction of the Jedi. Lightsabers were the only tangible remains of the Jedi religion.
"Hey, you!" A voice rang out in the distance, it wasn't angry, but Cal couldn't risk being caught. Maybe coming to Tatooine was not the greatest idea.
The person picked up their pace, getting closer and closer to Cal. He panicked, and ran into a busy marketplace.
I think I lost them. Then out of nowhere a staff hit him in the back and he fell to the ground. The taste of sand greeted his lips.
"What the-" he said in surprise.
"You shouldn't be so careless, Cal Kestis."
It was the voice a female, her skin was tan from years of living on the desert planet.
"Follow me." She ordered
Cal couldn't resist, his lip was bleeding and he needed a place to stay.
"If money is what you want from me, I don't have any."
"No, Cal. We want something more real."
Cal was nervous, "Please, the lightsaber is all I have to defend myself."
"Ah yes, the Jedi's weapon, a formidable tool in combat and to keep the peace."
Keep the peace. Cal wasn't really the cautious type, systems had already been alerted to his presence. He could not go home without being put in shackles and probably sent to the Emperor directly for interrogation.
"I take you have no love for the Empire then?" The feminine voice said.
"I don't have a love for anyone, I always assume everyone is out to betray me."
"That's a sad life to live, Cal Kestis."
"But it is better than living no life at all, at least I am safe."
"No, you are trapped. Going into hiding won't change anything, you are a Jedi, which means you need my help."
"Why do I need your help?" Cal asked.
"Because I'm like you, a vagabond, a Jedi."
