It's a man. He seems tall and young. His red hair are slightly black at the roots. When he notice he has everyone's attention, a huge smile appears on his face. There's a silence at first, and then people starts screaming. Sabrina looks at me, she seems as confused as me. The young man laughs , while paople are still cheering him. He let me go on for a second before coming closer to the mic.

"Alright Hello !"  He says.

And just like that, people starts screaming again. Again, he laughs. I smile. I can see Nathan rolling his eyes.

"I hope you're having a great time" he says. "For those who don't know who I am, let me nitroduce myself, I'm Ryan Hoover."

Sabrina comes closer to me. I already know what she's about to say.

"Ricky was right he's cute" she whispers.

I shake my head. I have to admit he's handsome tho.

"I wasn't supposed to come tonight so I sent you the second best person, right after me of cours" he laughs. " Yes Nathan, I'm talking about you !" he smiles.

Everybody laughs. Nathan waves at him before laughing. I'm probably the only one who noticed that his smile was a fake one. I look at thm, confused. It's only when Ryan says he's a basketball player that I realize he's Nathan's team mate. What a bummer.

During the rest of his speech I listen but try to ignore the fact that he's his teammate. In reality, I have a million questions on my mind right now. While he's in the middle of a sentence, his eyes meet mine. He stops talking for a moment and smiles. Nathan turns around to look at who's the person Ryan's looking. I look away and take a sip of water, pretending I didn't saw any of them lookign my way. When he finally ends his speech, he wished evryone a good night, He invites us to go on the dancefloor and inform us that the bar is now open. Finally soe good news ! A little cocktail is more than welcome right now.

Sabrina and I wait a moment before going to the bar. She orders a cocktail whitout alcohol while I order a cherry strawberry cocktail with alcohol. We stay there a moment. I'm surprised to see Nathan coming this way. I hear him order a cosmopolitan and a soda. I'm even more surprised, but relief at the same time. The relief even bigger whn I see him handing the cosmopolitan to the brunette. Nathan's not the type to drink cocktails. The only time I saw him drink one, it was a whisky coca. He's more to drink alcohol on its own.

Later, Sabrina and I are in the middle of a conversation with an actress about our age when she suggest going to the bar for a drink. We accept. We're chilling, drinking our ocktails when Nathan and his teammate decides to go to the bar too. I ignore them as much as I can, but soon, it becomes imossible to ignore Ryan's stare. Of course, what I feared the most happens.

"Meghan" says Ryan. "It's been forever how are you ? " he asks.

She seems a little bit confused but answers. They start a convesation about the most superficial things. Then, he turns aaround and look at us. I pray he'll leave, but instead, he introduces himself. I drink the whole rest of my drink. The girls looks at me confused and Ryan just smiles.

"Sabrina nice to meet you"

"And you are ? " he asks looking at me.

"Josephine" I say.

"Well nice to meet you, both of you"

He starts talking to us. To be honest, he's not rude at all. He's even funny and charming. The only problem is that he's Nathan's teammate. I'd have to say that his starrings are kinda annoying tho. I excuse myself to go to the toilets, Once in the toilets, I look at my reflection in the mirror. How did I end up here ? I wish I could put some fresh water on my face, but Ricky would kill me. The sound of a door opening takes me back to reality. When I see the person who gets out of the toiletsn I do the first thing that comes to my mind and look for a lipstick in my purse. I take it and starts  touching up my lips.

She comes closer and washes her hands right next to me. She smiles at me when our eyes meet in the mirror. Now that I'm closer to her, I can see her whole face. She has beautiful big green eyes. I can now seee the lighter highlights in her brown hair. It looks beautiful, she got beautiful hair. She wears a pastel pink dress that goes really well with her skintone. The sound of her lipstick tube takes me out of my mind again. I close mine, I have to get the hell out of here, now.

"Red looks good on you" she says.

"Oh thanks, that's nice, hm, the nude one looks good one you" I answer.

I pray she's not about to say anything more, but she does. And of course, the inavitable happens.

"I'm Tiffany" she says presenting her hand.

I shake her hand, I don't wanna look rude.

"I'm sorry I saw you talking to Ryan, he seems really really interusted" she says.

The fact she's talking to me means she doesn't have a clue about me and who I am. After all, it's better that way if she doesn't know anything.

"Oh" is the only thing that cames out of my mouth.

"He didn't stopped starring at you ever since he arrived. Oh by the way I'm a friend, I'm dating his temmate, Nathan" she says smiling.

"That's....great" I say.

There's a little silence. She doesn't seem to notice how embarassed I am right now. That's pretty normal, she doesn't know anything.

"I have to go back there, I need to find my friend" I say.

I'm out of the toilets before she even had a chance to say anything. I look for Sabrina. My head starts spinning when I find out she's still with Meghan and Ryan, but Nathan joined them. I take a deep breath and join them. I can see Nathan getting tense when I arrive. I don't say anything., I just listen to the conversation. They're talking about basketball, great. Ryan and Nathan are nicely arguing about which one of them is the best. When Nathan says it's him because he's the captain, a nervous laugh gets out of me. I insult myself in my head.

"See, that even makes her laugh" says Ryan.

If only he knew what he's talking about. I only smile and hope they move on, but they don't.

"The opinion of such a person, as ignorant as she is, doesn't makes you right" answers Nathan.

I'm about to answer but my best friend seems even more angry than I am.

"I think you suck too, she says. Ryan is NO DOUBT better than you" she says staring right into his eyes.

She doesn't even blink, it scares me in all honesty. 4In front of her, Nathan looks at her, hate in his eyes. These two alway hated eah other, but it's ot the time to bring this up.

"What do you know about basketball anyways ? Or sport for a matter of fact ? " he says.

"Oh honey, trust me I don't need to look at sports to know that you suck. For EVERYTHING. I think I know what I'm talking about." she says.

Those last words seems to have a bigger impact on Nathan tha she wanted to. He deserved this. I have to stop myself from smiling even though the face he's making right now is satysfying. They both stare at each other, it looks like they're about to kill each other.

"Who wants to dance ? " is the only thing I can come up with.

I grab Sabrina's hand and get us on the dancefloor. I see Nathan, his jaw is still contracting from anger. What an idiot. Mraghan joins us leaving Nathan and Ryan alone. Ryan tries talking to Nathan, but he doesn't wants to. Our eyes meet, I roll my eyes and turn around.

For the rest of the night, I decide to have fun and ignore Nathan. I spend some times with Natty who looks really happy about it. Spending the night with these kids made me realize how much helping and making others happy was important to me. Sabrina and I already did help in the past.In winter we go out and give soup and plaids to those in need. We also adopted an old dog who was going to be killed if no one was adopting him. Unfortunately he died a few months ago. We spent a lot of time at the animal shelter. I think it'll be a good thing if I came to the orphanage from time to time. I'll see Natty and Katie and everyone else. I'd do that if it makes them as happy as they look tonight.
