"You're leaving again Jack?" Hellen asked.
She, Jamie and Jill all sat at the dinner table tonight.
"And to Canada no less." Jill added.
Jamie scratched the back of his head.
"Yeah, I've got some business to take care of." He said.
"But what about Emily?" Jill asked.
"Don't you want to stay here til she wakes up?"
Jamie thought for a moment.
"As much as I want to stay with her, I know she won't wake up on her own.
I need the antidote.
I know Zack has it!"
Hellen chimed in which grabbed his attention.
"Now Jill, don't be like that.
Jack has a life too, I'm sure he's worried about her probably more than the rest of us.
What he's going to do I'm sure has to be done first though."
She then looked to Jack.
"Still though, make sure you pack everything you need from here.
We'll watch over Emily til you come home and we'll give you a call if she wakes up." Hellen finished.
Jamie couldn't help but smile.
Jack really did have a wonderful life...
He then nodded and spoke.
"Thank you so much for supporting me, mom."
"I'm your mother Jackie, it's why I do best." Hellen smiled.
"Now you're leaving tomorrow correct? Better get ready."

After a few hours of getting all his stuff ready, Jamie was finally prepared for the task ahead.
From down the hall he heard Jill calling for him.
"Hey big bro!
You've got company!"
Jamie walked into the kitchen to see this company.
It was Louis, Marcus and Sarah again.
Except this time they weren't in their coats.
Louis was wearing a green military designed vest with a black long sleeved shirt and black baggy pants.
Marcus being a heavier guy was also in baggy clothes.
blue jeans, and a red and white T-shirt.
Sarah was wearing an orange hoodie and cream colored capris.
"May we come in?" Louis asked.
"Sure." Jamie moves out of the way and the three herded inside.
Hellen walked into the room and noticed the three new guests.
"Well hello, you three must be the friends Jack is leaving for the north with."
The three of them stood there sort've confused, forgetting that while to them Jamie is his true name.
He at one point went by a different name and identity.
Sarah was the first to speak.
"Yeah! Uh, that's okay right?" Her normally brave, yet brash personality seemed to shy away in front of Hellen.
It would make sense, for Hellen is Jamie's mother.
Adopted, but his mother nonetheless.
Louis and Marcus both introduced themselves in their own way.
Louis with a "hello" and nod.
And Marcus with a "nice to meet you" followed by a bear hug.

After all the greeting, the group retired to Jamie's old room.
"Your rooms pretty cool Jamie." Marcus said.
"Your mom is nice too." Sarah added.
"Enough goofing around guys.
Jamie, are you ready for tomorrow?" Louis asked.
"As ready as I'll ever be..." Jamie said.
"Remember, you're Zack's target.
He's sure to have all sorts of traps and tricks up his sleeve to get you." Louis spoke.
"But!
Don't worry Jamie, we'll keep you safe!" Marcus chimed.
"Alright big guy, if you're my shield, I'll be your sword." Jamie proclaimed.
The two of them fist bumped.
The four of them sat around for a little bit and talked about the problems that might rise on their journey.
They made a note that Nick will be hard to convince to join and made sure that while they were in New York looking for Nick, to stop in and grab some tea at "Cole's Cafe"
"Oh, we're also taking Louis's old beat up car there.
Then taking a flight to Canada." Sarah stated.
"My car isn't old or beat up." Louis huffed.
With all their plans settled and and everything prepared, Jamie said goodnight as the three of them left.

The next day Jamie woke up once again to his blaring alarm.
"Shut up..." he grumbled.
He hopped out of bed, got dressed and packed his things.
Prepared for the trip.
"We'll meet at the hospital and leave from there.
I'm sure you want to say goodbye to her ." The sentence that Louis said last night rang in Jamie's head.

"Well Jill, I'm heading out.
Not sure when I'll be back." Jamie spoke as he pat Jill on the head.
"Hey, I'm not a little kid.
Stop that." Jill pouted, but secretly enjoyed it.
"Where's mom?" He asked.
"She left for work, it'd probably be wise to call her you know." She chimed.
"Right, well I'll see you in a few months." Jamie said as he slipped out the door.
He wasn't completely sure if he'd be able to ever come back...

After giving Hellen a call and saying his goodbyes, he reached the hospital.
Sure enough, what looked like an old beat up van was sitting outside.
The sliding door of it was open and Louis was sitting out of it.
"You know it's raining right?" Jamie said to him as he walked up.
Louis just nodded then pointed up. "That roof is enough cover for me to do this without soaking the insides."
"Where's the other two?" Jamie asked.
"They went to get ice cream." Louis answered.
Jamie then looked to the hospital then back to Louis.
"Go on, I'll be here." He said.

The elevator in the hospital was out so Jamie climbed his way up the stairwell.
Finally reaching the second floor, Jamie made his way to Emily's room.
The door was open and there seemed to be no visitors so he walked right in.
He sat down next to Emily's bed.
"Hey... Emily." Jamie started.
As expected, she didn't respond.
He noticed her skin had paled even more and the heart monitor was beating very slowly.
She seemed to be alive, but Jamie wasn't sure how long...

"I... I'm sorry about what happened.
Jack vanishing.
You being in harms way.
And well now this.
I should've been stronger for you.
I'm so sorry..." Jamie paused.
"I will make this right.
I swear I will."
Jamie brushed Emily's brown curls from her face.
Her body felt cold to his touch.
Suddenly Jamie's phone rang.
It was Sarah.
"Hey... I know you're saying your goodbyes but we gotta hit the road soon.
She doesn't have much time, so we need to be quick."
Jamie wasn't sure but he thought Sarah had a different tone for a moment there.
"Right...
I'll be down in a few minutes." Then he hung up.
He looked back to Emily again.
"I'm sorry." He smiled sadly.
"Looks like it's time for me to go.
Don't worry though, I'll be back as soon as I can."
Jamie then leaned in and planted a light kiss on Emily's lips.
"Hang in there for me."
He began to walk towards the door.

"I promise,
I'll come back to wake you up."

With his final words said,
Jamie shut the door to Emily's room.
