Woozi: Come on or we’re going to be late for class!

Madilyn: Woozi! I need to sign up for this audition to do the talent show.

Woozi: Fine, I’m going. I’ll meet you there, okay?

Madilyn: Okay.

He walks away and as the line disappears I sign the paper and start walking to class. I see the clock and see homeroom was about to end so I head in the bathroom for the last five minutes of it.

Hana: Stay away from him.

Girl: Why do I have to stay away from Woozi?

Hana: Because he’s mine.

I knew that voice from anywhere. It was Hana, my bully. I’m usually pretty badass but there’s a good reason I’m slightly afraid of her.

Madilyn: He’s not yours, Hana. He doesn’t belong to anyone.

Hana: Look who decided to join the party.

Madilyn: Last time I checked anyway he’s always by my side.

I go to the girl who was pinned on the floor and pull her up. I motion for her to go with my head and she mouths the words thank you. After she leaves and I hear the door shut I look at Hana.

Madilyn: Why do you like picking on them? Woozi doesn’t belong to you.

That comment earned me a shove against the wall.

Madilyn: That all you got?

I knew I was asking for it. I stand up but immediately fall back down.

Hana: You found some courage this morning, congrats.

Madilyn: Save the talk for someone who wants to listen to it, Hana.

She picks me up and punches my stomach. I wrap my arms around my waist and spit out blood. I look up and see the satisfaction in her eyes but I know she isn’t done.

Madilyn: I would appreciate it if you finish this before next class.

Hana: Maybe you’ll end up in the grave just like your dad.

She punches my stomach again and throws me against the sink. The last thing I see is her laughing and then everything goes black.

Woozi POV

I look at the clock and see five minutes left of class. She must be skipping. After the bell rings, I grab my stuff and start walking to my next class until someone pulls me to the side. Man, these fangirls.

Woozi: I don’t have time for a photo, sorry. Maybe at lunch?

Girl: It’s, Madilyn.

Woozi: What’s wrong?

Girl: Girls bathroom on the second floor.

I start running up the stairs and make it outside the girl's bathroom. What do I do? I can’t just walk in there. I grab a girl by her arm.

Woozi: I need you to go in there and see if anyone’s in the stalls.

She goes in and comes back looking pale.

Woozi: Is anyone in the stalls?

She shakes her head and I run in there. I stop in my tracks when I see Madilyn on the floor. I run to her side and check her pulse. She’s okay, thank God. I look and see blood dripping down her face and on her hands. I pick her up and carry her bridal style to the nurse.

Nurse: What happened?

Woozi: I’m not sure, a girl said she was in the bathroom.

Nurse: And you just went in there?

Woozi: She said nobody else was in there. I had no choice.

Nurse: Thank you. Go wait in the hallway, please. I’ll call you when I’m done.

I go in the hallway and sit on the bench.

Hana: Hi Woozi.

Woozi: Hi.

Hana: Don’t you have math right now?

Woozi: Not today.

Hana: Is everything okay?

Woozi: Just waiting for a friend.

Hana: What happened?

Woozi: Please, stop asking questions. I can’t process anything right now.

Hana: Is it, Madilyn?

Woozi: How’d you know? Do you know what happened to her?

Hana: You’re just always hanging out with her. See you later, then.

She walks away but I feel weird with the whole thing. After an hour or two, the nurse comes out.

Nurse: You’re still here?

Woozi: Of course I am. Is she okay?

Nurse: Come see for yourself.

I go in and see her head bandaged. She’s not awake yet. I go kneel on the floor beside the bed she’s in and rub my finger against her hand. Her eyes flutter open and she spots me then winces and reaches for her head.

Nurse: Try not to touch your head, sweetie.

The nurse walks out of the room and leaves us alone.

Woozi: What happened?

Madilyn POV

When I woke up I was fine for a split second before the pain reminded me what happened.

Woozi: What happened?

There was concern, anger, and worry in his voice. There was no way I was telling him what actually happened though.

Madilyn: I slipped on water and hit my head on the sink.

Woozi: You expect me to believe that? Do you think I’m a fool?

Madilyn: Of course not.

Woozi: Please, tell me so I can take care of it. I don’t want this to happen again.

Madilyn: I appreciate your concern Woozi but I’m fine. I need to get to baseball practice.

I was the only girl, the captain, and the best player on the team. I had to be there.

Woozi: There’s no way you’re going to that practice. I’ll tell Coach, I’m walking you home.

Madilyn: Woozi!

Woozi: Madilyn, I let you talk me out of so many things but it’s not going to work this time.

Madilyn: I won’t forgive you if I can’t go.

Woozi: That’s unnecessary. Plus, I’d rather you hate me than have you hurt yourself any more.

He helps me stand and wraps my arm around his neck and grabs my waist.

Madilyn: I’m glad I have a friend like you.

Woozi: Me too.

A/N: I know that chapter was boring but I had to introduce some of the important characters. I hope you like the story overall though.
