Weird Feelings

I spent the whole night unable to sleep, the thought of James and Zoe crying couldn't leave my mind, I kept wondering if it was all my fault, if I was the one that made them cry, I couldn't find the answer, so I just decided I was going to apologize, and everything would be okay.

At school, I ran to my class looking for both, Zoe was sitting on her new place talking to a boy I never cared enough to learn the name, James was sitting reading a booking completely ignoring everything around him, I went to James so I wouldn't bother Zoe and her friend,  "James, I'm sorry, I tried forcing you to open to me and it wasn't right of me to do, please forgive me".

His face turned red and with a smile, he responded, "I already said it wasn't your fault silly", after saying this he got up and hugged me, my face turned red as I started realizing I was really liking that hug.

For a second I didn't want to let go but realized it wasn't a good idea to keep hugging someone you barely know, so I let go and went to check on Zoe so I could finally apologize to her, but my hopes were destroyed when I saw Zoe and the boy kissing.

I just decided to sit and ignore what I saw, "She can kiss whoever she wants, I don't care... do I?" I thought to myself while unpacking.

"Are you okay?" James asked with a worried face, "You seem sad."

"Oh no, I'm fine", I answered trying not to show my thoughts, "I just remembered we haven't started my homework yet".

He quickly grabbed my hand and said looking me in the eyes: "Today I promise I'll go no problem".

His determined face made my heart beat faster, my whole mind was screaming "CUTE!!", and at that moment I realized, I was starting to feel weird things toward James.

The rest of the class was filled with me trying to understand what the fuck was going on, my chest was bursting and every time I would make eye contact with him this feeling would grow bigger, when the bell finally rang I felt relieved for a second before feeling even more nervous, he was supposed to go to my house and help me with homework, I couldn't keep up with that feeling anymore.

"Hey James, I'm not feeling very well, I think we should cancel our plans for today", I said trying to be convincing.

"Oh, really?" He sounded really worried, "Are you sure you don't want me to go so I can take care of you?"

Those words almost made me scream, "Thank you a lot but, I really think we should try again tomorrow."

"Well, if you say so, I won't force you to let me go to your house or anything", he was starting to look really disappointed, which made me think if he was looking forward to this. "Do you mind waiting for my parents with me? Before you go".

Honestly, I wasn't capable of saying no to that face so I just agreed and we sat by the school gate.

After talking for a while his parents finally arrived in a very pretty and expensive looking car, his mother went out of the car and walked in our direction, "Hi, you must be Edward, it's nice to meet you".

I was pretty surprised she knew my name, "Hi, it's nice to meet you too".

She made a small smile and looked over to James, "Let's go, son, you know your dad hates waiting".

James just waved goodbye and got in the car with his mother, before starting to get up and walking home, I noticed James's father looking at me through the car window, it wasn't a happy face.
