Another night went by fast, but this time instead of spending it in bed with my feelings killing me, I just kept playing on the computer, it was a good idea until the sun decided to appear and I started realizing it was already time for school.

"Ed, are you okay? You seem really tired" James asked with those big blue eyes piercing my soul.

"Oh I'm fine, just didn't get any sleep today", I thought for a second about something actually productive I could have spent the night doing, "I started reading and got distracted", which wasn't a total lie, I mean I read a lot in the games I play.

"Really? You could show me these books today at your house", he made a face like he knew I was lying.

"Okay okay, I spent the night playing", I gave up "But how did you know?"

"You just don't seem like the reading kind", he winked and made me look at some notes he made to help me in English.

When the class was finally over I was almost passing out on my desk, but James's efforts to keep me awake were really good, he kept poking me so I would freak out for a moment and not get to sleep, and I honestly didn't mind he touching me.

"So, today we're good?" James asked holding my hand, "Will we go to your house?"

I looked at that face for a second and the whole weird feelings thing came back to me, but I had to be strong, I couldn't keep him away from my house forever and we actually needed to do our homework or I would be screwed, "Yes, let's go".

His face brightened up, "Oh and we don't need to go walking, my father offered to give us a ride".

While that sounded like a good idea, when I remembered James's dad face looking at me, I got a bit scared of being in the same car of him, "Hey my house is not far, he really doesn't need to give us a ride." I said trying to hide my fear.

"Well he's already waiting for us so I don't think it would be very nice to say we don't need him now" James responded while curiously analyzing my face for a reason I was saying that.

"Yeah you're right, let's just go", I started thinking to myself I was just being silly.

James's car on the outside looked like something from the future, but inside, it was even better, it had DVD players, a video game, a place for drinks and the seats could massage your back if you want.

"So, you are the famous Edward", His dad finally broke the silence looking through the rearview mirror, "My son told me a lot about you".

"Hello, sir" I tried not to sound scared, "I hope only good things, ha ha ha..."

He laughed for a bit, more than I would expect, "Yes, a lot of good things". His face turned serious in a moment and his dark eyes pierced my soul, but in a very different way that James used to do, "I hope you prove to be a good company to my son, you see, he is not very good at making friends."

James looked down for a moment and I could see he agreed with his dad.

"Don't worry sir, James is already one of my best friends, we get along really well", I touched James's shoulder and smile at him so he would feel I really mean it.

When we arrived at my house James stepped out of the car and before I could too his father called me, "Boy, I hope you understand what I mean when I say you better be a good company to my son, don't make me explain myself". His words were hard and serious but he was smiling the whole time.
