Today is the day of the basketball game. A few weeks had passed after I had talked with Chaeyeon. It honestly felt like forever.
I have no motivation whatsoever. Win or lose I pretty much don't care anymore. My source of motivation is now gone. I pushed her away and yet I still expect her to–
"Woojin!"
I heard my name called from afar. I looked behind me to see a Chaeyeon who was panting. She probably ran.
She ran to me and greeted me with a weak smile. Her cheeks were red due to running.
"What is it?" I said coldly.
"I figured..ah uhm.." She had nothing to say. What's the sense of coming here anyway? You hate me don't you?
"If you're not going to say anything I'm going to take my leave" I stood up and grabbed my bag.
She held my wrist trying to stop me from going. I shook off her hand and she let go but she grabbed my arm with both of her hands.
"Woojin I'm sorry! I know I shouldn't have said those things back then. I'm sorry I got carried away about what I said because people warned me about your personality and how you really are. I shouldn't have believed them after all you're a really special person–"
She eventually bursted out in tears. Her tears won't stop rolling downs her cheeks.
"I'm sorry Woojin" She said in a teary voice in between sniffs.
"Hey hey hey don't cry agh, why do i feel like I'm the one who did something wrong"
I pulled her close to me and engulfed her in a hug.
"I'm sorry Woojin, It's my fault I shouldn't have believed them."
She repeated those words. She said sorry again and again and wouldn't stop crying. Great how am i going to comfort her? But i admit i would like to hug her longer.
"It's alright Chaeyeon-ah" I patted her head to make her calm down.
"If only I calmed myself down, I'm sorry I vented my anger on you"
She hugged me tighter. Honestly my heart was beating like crazy.
"Ah I'm sorry" She wiped off her tears and gave me a smile.
"Today is you're game right?"
I nodded my head. Finally my motivation is back. Today I'm definitely going to win this match.
"So we're good now?" She smiled cutely and I could only chuckle at her and nod my head.
"Yeah we're good now" I pulled her in a hug once again.
"This is just to energize myself for the game don't take it the wrong way."
I felt my cheeks burning but whatever.
We broke the hug. She took something out from her pocket and handed it to me. It was a black and white headband. She put it on my head and giggled.
