There was no reason for any of them to get up early given the festival performances didn't begin until closer to late afternoon and dusk.
It was a lively setting, and Regina was curious how crazy it would get. Given the fact Killian wanted to basically guard her during the weekend, she wondered how crazy the fans could be.
As she awoke at 9 am, Killian was moving around the hotel room, and getting dressed. Regina could smell the subtle cologne he had on throughout the room as he moved around, and saw him buttoning a shirt as he sat on the bed next to her.
"Well hi Sleeping beauty," he smiled gently as Regina stretched her arms up and blinked, with an eye rub.
"Hi," she breathed and pushed herself up to sitting. "I'm going to get moving around and these days can be surprisingly busy," he said.
"I'll get ready quickly," Regina got up out of bed. "You don't have to be around, for everything," Killian informed.
"Well I want to." Regina shrugged. "How can I do an article and not be paying attention to everything you guys are doing?" Regina presented.
"Well that's true, maybe I should charge to babysit you," Killian teased playfully.Regina couldn't help playfully roll her eyes at him, which he actually found adorable.
"Just remember what I said about staying close," Killian picked up his guitar as Regina put on her lower pump heels.
"Want me to hold your hand?" Regina asked, and then felt instantly awkward.
Regina's POV
Regina can you come off any more obvious to him?
"Not a bad idea," Killian surprises her with his reply. Regina's eyes widen a bit unsure what to follow that back with.
He continues, somewhat saving her, "my hands will be full, but you can hold onto my shoulder," he finishes.Regina's POV
You mean that strong broad shoulder I saw with your shirt off last night? Oh ok, umm that's fine.
"Oh umm okay," Regina nodded at him casually.
Regina's POV
Yeah it's okay to just hold onto your strong shoulder and walk behind you and everything sure it is, oh my god.
"I'm ready," Regina shrugged and grabbed her small bag to carry around.
Killian was a bit surprised that she put herself together that fast. She stared up at him with a long ponytail she swooped up.He was impressed she was sexy, comfortable and flawlessly beautiful with so little sleep and no makeup. Killian was a simple fellow, a deep down hopeless romantic who appreciated and loved a woman that could just be true to herself and others.
Regina possessed an enchanting persona to him, and it fueled his creativity.
Regina shuffled quickly following Killian toward the stage. He turned his head sideways to look over his shoulder and pat his shoulder gesturing her to hold onto him.
Regina lifts her hand slowly and as she places it towards his shoulder, before making contact she sees and feels his strong hand reaching back to place her hand securely there.
Regina's POV
My breathing literally jolted as he did that. It only got worse with his next sentence and the grin he flashed.
His grin went upward and he said "just grab my shirt if you think you're losing grip," he instructed gently to her.
Regina's top teeth pressed over her bottom lip in a nervous feeling, as he began to move forward with his guitar in one hand and chords in another.
As they made their way, Regina started to hear the unruly crowd. Killian paused a moment near the crack in the curtain, "see?" He pointed and Regina leaned towards him looking out over the crowd.
It was a grassy large field with the huge stage front and center and groups of people piled together in summer wear or limited to nothing for some.
Regina gaped a bit, it reminded her of Woodstock, in the sixties, which of course she wasn't alive for, but her mother was.
Her mother never really experienced the music and partying of the sixties, she was a bit more stiff.
Regina was intrigued by the whole thing. "Pretty cool huh?" Killian asked. Regina nodded silently and they moved forward towards the stage setup to test the instruments.
Regina found herself really lost for words on what to write for this article. She never had issues with writing. She was able to write a ten page paper in school about all kinds of things over night, this was seemingly harder.
Regina stared at Killian as he went through the chords on his guitar and adjusted the amps to match what they needed. She could hear the excitement of the crowd.
Regina's POV
They really did have a lot of potential to be a big deal. Killian was certainly the deeper of them all, but they all had this genuine love for the music. I just sat there and tapped the pencil, chewed on it, which my mother hated it.
Killian's POV
Her chewing that pencil, Bloody hell.
As Killian subtly looked at Regina in her imaginative thinking process, he was mesmerized, and started to play a melody.
The other guys stopped and looked at him. "What's that one?" Neal asked. "Uhh sorry just was suddenly creative, I wrote some lyrics last night," Killian said.
"Back to the other one." Killian cleared his throat, turning from Regina's enchanting face and eyes, and started playing their old songs.
Regina decided there that she needed to write the heart of them, the heart of what these guys really wanted to do in the business.
They didn't have the dirt it seemed so far. This evening would tell.
As the beginning of dusk started, the crowd was getting larger, and the guys were on the stage. The heat had warn off with the sun finally setting as the guys entered their fourth song.
There were a few glistening spots of sweat on Killian's face as he mouthed against his microphone.
As they began to wrap up the show, the crown lit lighters in the air.
Regina stared at Killian as his final riff began, and she ended up dropping her notebook of work.
"Shit." She said out loud and hopped off the side of the stage to grab it.
As she knelt down trying to find her notebook the crowd began pushing forward, through some of the barricades.
"Ah!" Regina yelped as she felt the metal hit her head, drawing a little blood, and people began pushing towards the stage.
Security pressed them back best they could but a loud screech went through the speakers as Killian ripped his chord out of his guitar, and dropped his prized guitar on the stage.
The guys shouting at him, he ignored as he jumped off the stage, despite the excited crowd closing in, and picked up Regina from the ground as she was able to grasp her notebook.
She yelped as her feet lifted off the ground and only his scent and the feel of his hand told her it was him.
David and Graham's pulled Regina up and Killian pressed himself up on the stage.Security rushed them all off as Killian made sure to wrap his hand around Regina.
