(Mikey's POV)

"So, how'd it go bud?" Layla wrapped her arm around my shoulders, her hand rubbing my back. "Bad..." I sniffled. "Awe, sweetie... What happened?" She asked. "She really believes I was using her! Why would I use her?! I really liked her Layla and now she's gone..." I couldn't help but tear up. Not only did I lose Gab, but now I looked like a jerk in front of the whole world. I hurt America's Sweetheart. How can I repair that? "Oh, buddy, it's gonna be alright.." Layla tried her best to comfort me, but I couldn't believe it. There was no way I was fixing this. "Mikey, how could you do this to her..." Jason mumbled once Layla was far enough away. "I didn't do anything!" I groaned, upset that he actually believed the rumors. "Well, it sounded pretty convincing in the video..." Madison said, looking at the floor. I stopped walking, and stood in front of both of them. "Do you both actually believe I'd do that to Gab? You both know how much I liked her!" "We also know how badly you wanted to be famous... Mikey, we love you bro, but whether you really were using her or not, we're all screwed. Our band has a bad name now because of what happened with her... And what else are supposed to believe? We saw the video... You said it yourself..." Jason said, crossing his arms over his chest. I looked at Madison for some type of sympathy, but he just avoided eye contact with me, and shifted awkwardly. I shook my head, and laughed bitterly. "Nice guys, real nice. Thanks for believing in me." I walked ahead of them, past Layla and past the car. I ignored her calls out to me, and just kept walking, and walking, and walking, until somehow I ended up at City Park. The sound of the buzz of all the people comforted me. I walked through the crowd in the direction of Jamba Juice, when I heard someone say my name. "Hey, isn't that the Mikey Fusco kid? Yeah! I heard he hurt Gabrielle real bad..." I didn't think I was meant to hear the conversation, so I ignored it. I was not about to start anymore drama than I already had. "Yeah, he's a real douchebag..." A new voice had chimed in on the conversation. I took a deep breath, my fists clenched at my side, and kept walking. All I wanted was a smoothie. I could ignore them, get my Strawberry Surf Rider smoothie, then head back to the hotel. Easy as that. As I kept walking, the voices got louder, and there were more of them. Cameras were flashing, and people were now starting to yell insults directly at me. I couldn't handle this. I turned around to go back to the hotel, but the crowd started forming around me. I tried getting out of the middle, but I was blocked from all sides. They were yelling all sorts of mean things at me, making me tear up. No. I couldn't cry in front of these people. Man up Mikey. I pushed hard through them, and broke into a sprint once I got out. Everything was a blur, I couldn't see straight, but I knew I just needed to keep running. And that's what I did. All the way back to the hotel. When I entered the lobby, I sat on a couch, and buried my face in my hands, the tears finally escaping. I sobbed for what felt like hours. I didn't look up until I felt an arm wrap around me. I looked to my left, and there was Gab's mom. "U-um, hello, Mrs. Adams." I straightened up, and wiped my eyes. "Hi sweetie, how are you?" She asked. I contemplated lying and saying I was fine, but obviously from the way she found me, I wasn't. "I'm... I'm terrible... I wasn't using your daughter Mrs. Adams, I really like her..." She nodded. "I believe you, sweetie. Now, Gabrielle, you're going to have to work a little harder for her trust back." I nodded, and sighed. "No more crying, okay? I promise she's going to forgive you, she really likes you too! Just give it time..." She said. "Okay... Thank you Mrs. Adams." I said. She smiled, and side hugged me. "Take care, Mikey. I hope to see you again soon." And then she was whisked away by her body guards. I sniffled, and wiped my eyes. I believed Mrs. Adams. Everything was going to be okay with Gab, I just had to work for it...
