After what happened near the old witch house, Finn disappeared what was in fact not really surprising because in Lifa's opinion trying to kill your family and then still live with them wasn't really a good plan.
Since Esther trying to kill her whole family not much happened that's why Rebekah suggested for her and her niece to spend some time together. They chose to go to the restoration fundraiser for the Wickery Bridge.
At the moment, they talked with Carol Lockwood. They stood somewhere between the busy construction workers and the talking townspeople.
In the crowd, Lifa suddenly noticed a familiar face, Damon Salvatore, together with two unknown once. The major seemed to recognize the group and excused herself to walk over to them.
Rebekah then spoke suddenly up still watching and probably also listening to the major's conversation: "What happened after I was daggered?" "What?", asked Lifa in a mixture of confusion and surprise. Rebekah replied instantly as if she was prepared for this question: "I mean not historically I have caught up with that but between you and Nik"
"Me and...", she paused not knowing how to call him their relationship was like a rollercoaster at the moment with a lot of ups and downs. So she couldn't tell how she really felt about him.
"After he daggered you", she continued. "I started to feel more like a prisoner... He became more protective and..." She stopped again trying not to show how much it still hurt. "In the 50's I decided I couldn't handle it anymore so I wanted to leave... I tried... He didn't let me" Lifa blinked a few times in an attempt to not start crying.Rebekah touched Lifa's shoulder softly to comfort her and said quietly: "I'm sorry Munchkin." They stayed like this till Lifa said surprised: "That's Sage talking to Damon, isn't it?" The blonde didn't reply and just walked over to them.
Lifa watched her leave and mumbled: "Yeah, girl, just walk away." She stood there a bit and then walked to Sage, Damon, and Rebekah to join their conversation but when she arrived their Rebekah had already left.
"God, I hate that elitist bitch", commented Sage on Rebekah. "I hope you are not talking about me", joked Lifa who was standing behind Sage. She turned around quickly and pulled Lifa into a hug.
When she finally released her Damon asked raising an eyebrow: "You know each other?" Before Lifa could reply Sage said: "Yes, we do.", and added towards the brunette: "How have you been the last century? I haven't heard of you in a while." "Wasn't really able to", replied Lifa hinting on her time in the coffin.
Even if they haven't seen each other since centuries they kept in contact because they were friends and Lifa was like the child Sage and Finn lost when they were still human.
With a compassion look on the face, Sage said: "I'm sorry to hear that... But do you know where he is?" "I'm sorry. I don't. He left the town after trying to kill his family", answered Lifa.
Damon watched the scene still not trusting Lifa because even if she told them she wouldn't want to hurt them. All of them knew she would kill them for her family. Because at the end of the day the Mikaelsons would do everything for each other.
"Lifa!", Rebekah called her name. "I think I should leave. It was nice seeing you again, Sage, Damon", she said turning around and walking away.

In the evening when night had already arrived over Mystic Falls, Lifa looked through spellbooks to find a way to undo Esther's spell. Suddenly her phone which her family gave her ringed. She looked at the caller ID on which Rebekah's name appeared.
She picked up and greeted: "Hello, my dear aunt. How can I help you?" "Well, I assume you need a break? How about you come to burn the last white oak tree?", suggested Rebekah. "Sounds great where do we meet?" "The old Wickery Bridge", said Rebekah ending the call instantly.
After a few minutes when Lifa arrived at the bridge or well their where the bridge had stood Rebekah had already prepared a bonfire out of the bridge but it didn't burn yet.
Rebekah stood next to the wood while Sage leaned against a tree. "Would you set it on fire?", asked Rebekah her niece. Without replying Lifa did what she was told using her magic. After a few seconds of watching it burn she sat down on the floor.
A few seconds later Rebekah and Sage sat down next to her. Everything was quite beside the noises of the fire. Until suddenly Damon Salvatore's car showed up with him as a driver. The women got up. Sage hid somewhere in the woods.
Damon stopped the car and got out slamming the door in frustration.
"Your grand plans always get ruined, don't they? Sorry, to disappoint you. Again", said Rebekah before speeding away.
Damon and Lifa watched her leaving til he turned to her and asked: "So that's what you do? Lie Elena into the face about being the good one and wanting her to survive. Only to betray her like this."
While he spoke he and his voice had become angrier. He had stepped closer to her and took another step towards her. Only to not even a second later chose to rush towards Lifa. He grabbed her by her throat and pushed her against the nearest tree.
"I should kill you right here when none of your original vampire relatives are around", treated Damon.
"I am over a thousand years old. Do you really think you could kill me? Even if I weren't an original", she said pushing him off her against a near tree.
His facial expression changed to surprise. She added: "You didn't expect that, did you? I hope you have learned your lesson."
She rushed away. Demonstrations of power were too much Mikaelson style for her opinion but she knew when they were necessary.
