We arrived at my house.
Ashley nudged me slightly indicating we were back. "Bye Ashley, Bye Ever, see you guys soon" Luke, Beau and Jai said as we hopped out the car and entered my house. My mom left me a note saying she and Dad had gone to work and left some money for me to order some food or if I go out.
"Ashley you're staying another night" I said breaking the silence as she was about to grab her bag to leave. "I am? Why?" She sat down on my sofa comfortably, as I sat opposite her. "We need to talk, and I don't really feel like being alone" I looked down at my hands as I fiddled with my fingers, a bad habit of mine. "Let me guess, about James, well Luke was talking to us in the car about it when you drifted off to sleep and-" "I kind of overheard some parts." I admitted, she came over to sit next to me to try and comfort me. "I knew you was awake but I don't know if you heard everything he said but I'm going to tell you anyway." She stopped not knowing how to begin.
"Basically, James isn't completely over, erm Talia, and the others, Luke, Beau and Jai think he might be trying to forget about her, forget about her by being with you?" She explained it like it was a question. Suddenly I unexpectedly burst into tears, she held me putting my head on her shoulder while patting my back to say that it was okay, but it really wasn't. Why did this all have to be so complicated.
After a while of sobbing over something pointless, even though it wasn't pointless, that was my way of making myself feel better. "I KNOW LETS GO OUT AND EAT CHINESE, I KNOW A REALLY AMAZING RESTAURANT ITS SO GOOD!" She sounded so excited like I already agreed to her to go. "Sorry Ashley I'm just not up for it right now" I replied while sniffing slightly. "PLEASEE, OH PLEASE I'LL DO ANYTHING?" she begged while looking at me with puppy dog eyes, I had nothing else to do. "Fine, only if you calm down" she nodded in agreement but still squealed.
Ashley drove to the restaurant, it was called The Red Dragon, typical name for a chinese restaurant. We entered the restaurant sitting on a table of four as it was the smallest table there was. "LETS EAT IM STARVING" Ashley rushed to the buffet while I followed, we got our plates and hers filled up instantly, I kept circulating the buffet unsure of what to add to my empty plate, I didn't feel like eating.
"Try the chicken chow mein, you won't regret it" I turned around seeing an unfamiliar boy was talking to me. "Oh um okay then" I smiled at him and added some to my plate, as he did after. I watched him as he put the food on his plate, he was quite attractive. Tanned skin, dark hair, but grey eyes which was definitely the first thing you noticed, although they weren't that noticeable under the yellowish lighting. He faced me holding a hand out while the other was holding his full plate. "I'm Jeremy by the way" he introduced himself, i shook his hand gently "I'm Ever." I said introducing myself, he then suddenly grabbed my hand and kissed it, which made me shiver slightly and tingle.
"You're very beautiful Ever, so who are you with today?" I immediately blushed at him calling me beautiful, he was so sweet. "I'm just here with my friend Ashley, and yourself?" "My younger brother Kyle, so if you see an annoying boy its most likely him" he explained making me laugh. "Do you want to join us?" Ashley butted into our little conversation while he nodded in agreement. I sat next to Jeremy with Ashley opposite. Suddenly a younger boy looking exactly like Jeremy came along and sat next to Ashley. "Jeremy is that your girlfriend? She's pretty." The young boy said making me and Ashley laugh but him angry, he ignored him and carried on eating. The rest of the dinner consisted of me and Ashley getting to know Jeremy more while he got annoyed when his little brother Kyle interrupted him. While talking to him I couldn't help but think of James, he was the only thing on my mind, its been getting more and more frequent every day or more.
There was a short silence which made me think about him even more instead of finishing my meal. Suddenly Jeremy placed his hand on top of mind gently while looking at me. He was so nice and sweet and such a gentlemen even though others wouldnt thinkn so since his appearance wasn't suit and ties, he dressed more as a punk rocker, but his personality was totally the opposite.
After the meal Jeremy, Ashley and I switched numbers and said our goodbyes to eachother, including Kyle. As he disappeared Ashley squealed jumping up and down in excitement while I just gave her a look. "OH MY GOD HIS TOTALLY INTO YOU Ever, YOU TWO SHOULD HOOK UP! OH WAIT BUT-" "but James" I said finishing off her sentence, I couldn't help but think of how sad or even angry he might be if he ever found out about Jeremy, but he did still like Talia and might even get back with her so why couldn't I like someone else?
