"How was your date?" My mom asks me upon me entering the door with the biggest grin on my face.
"AH!" I scream instead of saying any words, but I think she gets the idea.
"That good, huh? I'm glad you had fun. I should mention that someone's hear to see you," she says and I give her a confused look.
"Who?" I ask, and she simply point upward, telling me to go upstairs. I head upstairs to my room and open the door. "AH!" I yell again, but this time it's out of fear.
"Boo!" Caspian sits on my bed laughing as I'm terrified of shock. Why is he in my house? Why is he in my bed? He knows I was on my date.
"Do I want to ask why you're here?" I question, and he continues to laugh without saying anything. "Hello?"
"I knew you'd be coming home soon, so I waited for you after I got out of work," Caspian states, reaching over and eating my strawberry cream covered pocky sticks.
"Why'd you come here? Is something wrong?" I ask, sitting down next to him in my turquoise bed.
"Nothing is wrong exactly."
I'm assuming there is something bothering him, otherwise I don't know why he's here. Maybe...he's lonely, like he said earlier. If that's true, then am I really the first friend he went to!?
"Just tell me why you're here, I'm not going to kick you out or anything." I look into his bright ocean eyes.
He lets out a heavy sigh, and looks at me with watery ocean eyes. It looks like he's about to cry, and I ready myself like any good supportive gay best friend. "I wanted to tell you that...I got a date with Gabby!" He turns his mood around and suddenly I find myself jumping up and down in excitement.
"No way! How?" I lean in, and he gives me a goofy smile. He looks so precious when he's exited about something. I just want to hug him so badly.
"So I may have sent her a picture of you two on text and she got so happy. We were texting back and forth the whole time I was working, and I ended up popping the question." He smiles the whole time he's talking.
"What did you say?" I ask, playfully hitting him on the arm repeatedly because I'm so excited for him.
"I told her that I really liked her and then asked if she would want to go on a date with me after school."
"And she said yes?" I drop my jaw in shock. Never has Gabby Grace ever said yes since her traumatic date freshman year.
"I know I was shocked too!" He hits my bed repeatedly. "It's all because of you!" He tackles me while laughing. I look up at his gray shirt which fits his tightly, so it shows his fit body through the shirt. His sleeves roll up a bit, showing most of his muscular arm.
"Ouch. Get off of me." I say as I start giggling.
"Not until you tell me how your date went." He holds my arms down and sits on top of me. His weight crushes me, and he gives me a devious smile like the monster he is. Although I don't struggle too much, since I'm oddly comfortable despite being crushed.
"Well it started off really good, but then it got really bad." I state, and his smile fades a little bit. "But then it got really good again." I make sure to have a dramatic pause like any good story teller.
"You had me worried there!" He yells with a big smile on his face. "If you had a bad time then I would have to have a talk with Noah!" The way he looks out for me makes me feel so special and like I finally have someone that will always be there for me. Gabby is great, but she can't always be there for me, and I don't expect her to be. So when Caspian says this, I find myself thanking the heavens for this angel.
