It's been amazing being back in New York. The time Blu and I spend together is magical. But all relationships are going to be tested. This night particularly. We were at the club enjoying the vibe when trouble reared it's head. Bluu had left to use the restroom and out of nowhere Melissa appeared. I tried with everything in me to avoid her.  When Blu walked out the bathroom we were in the middle of a heated arguement.
"What's going on here?" Blu demanded
"None of your business bitch" Mel shot back.
Blu took a step towards her pointing a finger in her face. "When it concerns him baby it's all my business."
"Larry who is this bitch." Mel demanded.
I walked behind Blu and grabbed her by the waist " this is my future" I replied pulling her in for a kiss.
"Really her?" Mel said laughing.
"Yeah her." Laurent said stepping in between us. "I watch you play with mon frere heart over and over again. He loved you and you treat him like a game. Now he find woman beautiful inside and out you want for be in his life again. Why don't you just let him be happy and move on."
With that said Mel stormed off. I wish I could say this was the end but I know her she don't take rejection well. After all the commotion died down I continued to enjoy night. Blu and Lau even had a dance battle. They battled to Didn't know by Digital Farm Animals.

Lau was as always awesome but Blu was better. I guess I'm bias. The night ended well. After dropping Lau off we drove around for awhile.
"I hungry" I said.
Blu smirked.
"I eat that later right now I need food."
"Ummm how about pizza."
"Sound good"
We drove to a little pizza shop and grabbed a booth. I ordered a chicken pizza while Blu settled on a spinach one. I enjoyed feeding her.
"Unh uhn" she said as she slapped my hand away "I'm stuffed."
We sat and talkedfor a while then headed home. While I drove a song my brother and I performed to came on Whatever happened by Michael Jackson came on it gave me a feeling of nostalgia.

I listened as Blu continued to sing. Once home we showered and then curled up on the couch. I ran my fingers through her curly hair. She laid her head against my chest and fell asleep. I carried her to the bedroom and laid her on the bed I laid down next to her falling into deep sleep. The next morning my phone was buzzing. Mel and I had a very public relationship. I wanted something different with Blu and I but that changed when I woke up to her face plastered all over instagram.
"What the fuck." I yelled loud enough to wake Blu up.
"What's wrong baby?" She asked barely awake.
"I non can believe she do this"
"Who?" Blu asked her brows furrowing in confusion.
"Melissa her put you all over instagram."
Blu sat up and took my phone. She rolled her eyes at the picture.
"It don't matter." She said squeezing my hand.
"Why not?"
"My granny had a saying she who stirreth the shit pot must also licketh the spoon."
I burst out in laughter "that's disgusting bebe"
"Also a saying that rangs true."
"I just non want you caught in my drama."
"Baby we are a team I got your back."
I smiled but deep inside I was still angry.
"Come on we gotta get dressed and get Imani." She said kissing my forehead.
That kiss set my mind at ease. I got up and got dressed. We got into the car and headed to their aunt house to pick her up.  It was a drive to Jersey. We stopped to pick up Lau who was equally upset.
"You see this shit." He said tossing his phone into my lap.
"Yea I see it this morning. Blu said non worry cos Mel going for lick shit."
"Lau laughed "that's disgusting."
"I didn't say that." She laughed. "It means pretty much don't start none won't be none."
"Ohhhh" we both said.
"I'm not worried about her she can post what she wants at the end of the day I know who I am."
My baby was truly the definition of class she could have easily fell into Mel's drama but she decided not to. When we arrived at Blu's aunt house their was more drama awaiting us. Blu jumped out of the car running to her aunt's defense standing between her mother and her aunt.
"Look bitch you ran out on them now all of a sudden you think you have some claim on Imani." Her aunt screamed.
"She's my daughter" Blu's mother yelled back
"Since when? Kehlani let go of every dream she had to take care of Imani. Even when Blu was little you abandoned her. You don't deserve the title of mother. Those girls have suffered enough because of you. Why are you here Lehlani? It's definitely not for the good of these girls."
Blu and Imani were brought to tears thinking about how much they struggled to get by.
"It's fine Imani don't cry." Lau said picking her up taking her away from the madness.
I wrapped my arms around Blu as she cried into my abdomen.
"Get off my property Lehlani and stay away from my nieces or I promise you, you'll regret it. Don't forget who I use to be." Blu's aunt yelled.
Lehlani walked off but I saw fear in her eyes. I had questions but now was not the time. Blu's aunt ran to comfort her distraught nieces.
"I'm so sorry babies. You two shouldn't have to endure this."
"It's okay auntie"
"Enough of this come on chile auntie made you some strawberry shortcake."
"Yum." Blu and Imani said.
"You have not lived until you have tasted Auntie's cakes." Blu smiled.
We sat down and ate they weren't lying the cake was delicious.
"So Blu mother is you sister?"
"No Blu's father is my brother he was a spitting image of the two of them. He was killed by a stray bullet coming home from work. Those girls were his life. When Lehlani would run off he was there pretty much a single father. After he died those girls were left alone. I didn't find out about it until Blu was of age yet still she finished high school she put herself through college held down three jobs and raised a child. I am so proud of her and her dad would be too."
"Wow you amazing bebe"
"Yep" Imani agreed.
We conversated for a bit longer before heading home. Laurent drove while I sat in the passenger seat. The stress had worn her and Imani out so they were both cuddled in the backseat fast asleep.
Lau looked at me and I looked back at him. His heart seemed to be heavy. He loved Imani like his own daughter. To see her break down took a toll on him. He tried to keep the tears from falling but it was futile. We had an unspoken understanding that no one would hurt them again.
