Things to Remember Before Entering College

Here's a thing one should remember:
No one will accept you better rather than yourself.

Being able to accept yourself is, as I speak, indeed one of the best gifts you can give to yourself. Not only you will appreciate every angle you have, but you can also see your worth as you do such.

Primarily, one of the hindrance of my self-acceptance is the fact that I may never become as attractive or as pleasing as typical girls are. With those sexy curves, clear skin, tall posture, picture-perfect faces which society demand girls to have, it is a struggle to find acceptance nowadays.

Standards hinder us from expressing ourselves. Some may not believe, but the fact that girls change their wardrobe style to fit in or to be accepted is a damn mistake. One should not change herself just to be given compliments. Life isn't about how many compliments we hear each day, or how often they praise you for your looks.

Acceptance is rather easy to do than to explain. It is also done from the inside. How would you expect others to accept you as yourself when, in fact, you don't do such to yourself? This would impose difficulty on both sides - them trying to convince yourself, and you trying to impress them that you already do.

Amidst those stuff, self-acceptance is never rushed. If you're struggling to absorb stuff that you do, fine. But, never be too hard on yourself as you do the process of accepting you as yourself. Internal struggles may exist, but in the end, it's still you - the person which God gave to the world to stand out.

At the end of each day, no matter how hard you struggle, there's that person who will stay by your side and will tell you that you've done a good job - you. So, know every minor detail of you, embrace those little things. Because in the first place, those make you apart from the others: a uniqueness which God planned you to have for a lifetime.
