Chapter 03 - Confession

I sat up, my arms shook uncontrollably. That dream again. I covered my face in despair.

All that pain, it was not real, right?

I tried to remember my surroundings but my vision was blurred. After a few minutes I tried once more.

I was sitting in my secret training room, the one neither my secret trainer nor my father knew about.

Only polar bear dogs, ponds filled with Koi and colourful birds lived here.

I stood up, my knees were covered in bruises and were slightly swollen.

Scratches were drawn all over my arms from my wrist to my elbow.

I pulled over my nightgown and slipped on my flat shoes. No matter how much I pressed my knees, it felt unbearable to walk, but I still ran up the marble stair case towards my bedroom.

"Hello, you were out late again?" Makoto smirked. A jumbo Carp was hanging off his shoulder as if another power was holding it.

My cheeks flushed but I ignored it "Yes, what is it to you, Makoto, you are just one of my many cooks." I crossed my arms and furrowed my brows.

He nodded and pressed his lips together, his knuckles were completely white. He was pissed.

I don't understand you, just because you were born as the daughter of admiral, doesn't make you any better." I held out my hand

"Actually, I'm in a far higher position than you are." I muttered

"What's wrong with you? One day you are crying in my arms the next day you are a spoiled snob!"

"Don't you have to work?" I added and quickly stumbled off before he could say another word.

If my father caught me talking to a bender, our friendship would be over and so would their life...

"There you are Sayuri, I sent a few guards to look for you, where have you been?" I smiled at my maid

"I was in the garden, a morning walk. What time is it though?" she stared at me for a moment.

"Well, it is 8 am, your breakfast will arrive any moment from now." she sighed and ran a hand through her flaming red hair

"I don't want you to go off like that again."

I sighed and nodded "Don't worry, I fell asleep early, stupid me and woke up around 5, and it's such a calming place, I couldn't resist."

"Wash yourself up before the guests wake up, young lady." she pointed at my cheek which probably was full of mud.

"Yes, Madam." I rushed passed her, rubbing the dirt off my cheek.

I had to sneak passed my father's room and into mine, which was pretty far.

"Hey, Saya!" I stopped and turned to Sakura

"Yes?"

"Why is the door to Seiko's room open?" my heart stopped. Too early, Ameratsu.

"I- I don't know, maybe Ameratsu visited her or my father?"

"Stop lying, your father never wants to see that scum and your mother has no reason to."

I clenched my teeth "She's not scum and Ameratsu is not my mother!"

"Sure, every bender is scum. Makoto is the only exception but he never chose to be from that family. His stupid parents probably forced him to learn that."
