K's apartment was moderate in size, the walls were painted gray with windows that looked out at the vast city. The sound of cars can be faintly heard from the other side of the windows. The blinds that was on the window cast shadows across the room. A small kitchen was on one end of the room separated by a short counter. A television was mounted on one if the walls, a couch sat in front of a television with a coffee table in front of it. The coffee table had the remote to the TV on it along with a black electronic tablet. His bed was on the opposite side of the room as the kitchen with the bed's longer side against the wall. A small nightstand was next to the head of the bed with a alarm clock, picture frame and a cellphone sitting on top of it. A metal footlocker was at the foot of the bed with a lock on it. The smooth concrete floor was cold and hard was covered by a carpet where his couch and TV was. There was a door on the same wall the bed was on leading to a bathroom. With a closet adjacent to it.
K was sitting on his bed wearing a t-shirt and pajama bottoms having just woken up. K stood up and walked to the kitchen and grabbed a banana off the counter and sat down on the couch. He turn on the TV and grabbed the tablet and began reading the news as the news played on the TV while taking occasional bites out of the banana. K looked back at the clock on his night stand then to a calendar that was on the fridge. K let out a sigh then went to the nightstand and grabbed a red tablet out of the drawer then began walking towards the door. Just as he got to the door three loud knocks came from it.
"Just like clockwork." K muttered to himself as he open the door.
A soldier covered from head to toe in gray and red armor was on the other side. The soldier was armed with a small rifle that was hanging across the chest from a sling and handgun that was holstered on one leg.
"Good afternoon, citizen 556, I need your identification tablet" a the soldier said firmly to K as he held out his hand.
K gave him the tablet. The soldier took the papers and began to skim them. He then pulled out a small device with a screen on it. "You live quite well for someone who is just a shipyard worker." the soldier said as he looked in to K's apartment.
"This is just from the job I had before the empire took over." K explained
"If you say so." said the soldier as he scanned a bar code that was on the tablet K gave him with the device he pulled out. A couple seconds later the device gave off a short high pitch sound, then the soldier looked at the screen then handed the tablet back to K and said "Victory for Volran" as he walked to the next room.
K closed the door and sat back down at the couch. He placed the tablet on the coffee table and continued to read the news on the other tablet. Suddenly his phone began to ring, on the table the name "Jackass" was on the screen. K got up and grabbed his phone and sat back on the couch. As soon as he answered the phonejust Jax's voice came from the phone "Whats up, K?"
"Nothing really, I just woke up not to long ago." K replied. As he turn the phone on speaker and placed it on the coffee table.
"Well, I just got off the phone with the shipyard, they said they we are off the rest of the week." Jax said
"You serious? Awesome." K replied
"Did you really just say 'awesome'?" Jax said holding in laughter.
"Um, yeah I'm not that old, I can say awesome." K said with slight irritation in his voice.
